So, the newly released concept art for the Metal Gear movie certainly is doing right by Metal Gear REX... It seems the key differences shown by Movie REX lie in the lighting color, the "slider" design for the legs, length of the central abdomen is significantly shorter (no crotch laser gun), no knee smoke launchers, and the mountings for the railgun and radome support arms appear to possibly be behind the head and not on the "thorax" part. Granted, its concept art, but even so, it shows they really care about keeping REX looking like the big nuclear dinosaur designed by an anime nerd that he was in the original game, and that's fabulous. I think the only difference is that this is going to be in the correct white-gray, whereas the Build Fighters Try original version has a pearl finish. The majority of those details must be painted - easily every detail on the weapons and the cloak except for the two red lines down the front center must be painted. And they are a bitch. Since I actually think the pearl looks better than the "correct" color, I'm happy keeping the Build Fighters Try version as the representation of the Crossbone Full Cloth.
Sorry for double posting but anybody remember that the Geminass 01 is a thing? Turns out they're making the armors for it, too! Good thing I have one on pre-order, the High Mobility equipment looks like it could give the GP02a a run for its money in the "absurdly huge shoulder engines" department. The Geminass 01 also happens to still be up for pre-order on Bluefin.
Yeah, I know - the Dictus pretty much should occupy double its price in the budget since the one announced is the Calisto's Light model, and since they have Crossbone Full Cloth, it means they'll need to make a Dictus for Calisto's Shadow.
GM II, eh., it's okay, but let me know when they make the GM III. Ooh.. Dictus is from Crossbone.. neat. Funky, but neat. Wonder when they'll get around to making the Gump. I knew they were treating the Geminass like the F90 series, but these look much better than most of the AtoZ packs! - Got back to what I planned on last night for the GM bullpup machine guns sights. Wave H-Eyes, 2mm lens is just about right. It too me a while to sand the sides on a slight bias so it would fit the shape of the frame. It's not as recessed as I thought, but I kind of like how this looks. This picture makes it look like it sticks out too much, but there is a curve inward at the corners so the lens does fit within the frame. I forgot when I packed up and shelved the other GM variants for right now I had all of their bullpups in the Sniper's box. For now, just the one is all I need to work on.
I wish they'd get to an MG or 1/100 of this suit. And fix the anatomy of his arm length. I've three kits to build. I've less time since starting work from home.
which is the best 1/100 Heavyarms available and does it have a lot of gatling guns for the BRRRRRT BRRRRRT?
Guys...is there anyway to prevent MG kits from er, “changing colour” (i think the term is bleaching?). My MG Gouf’s (OOB) colours are like fading...
The lil Psycho Gundam part of the Shu Gundam set is fricking adorable!! Almost want to cuddle the lil beasty!
I think the 3rd Party Supernova Heavyarms is fairly popular I've never heard of that happening but the only way I can think of preventing color fade on raw plastic is to paint it.
Dictus is a wild choice. I could go for kits of the Denan Zon/Gei. And the infamous B Gundam. The Bergas would be cool, too. And LOL, Crossbone is over 25 years old, has a ton of material, a cult following, regularly ranks high on popularity polls, and still no anime. Just like with other toys, that's a hobby hazard. UV from sunlight wreaks havoc on our plastic babies.
Didn’t man...could that have prevented the problem? Yeah, looks like I have to pick a second kit and paint it...the Gouf is a key mobile suit in my collection... The strange thing was that this kit was in my cupboard- away from sunlight. I checked my other kits and they still look alright.
That's odd. I know there are instances of plastics yellowing even without exposure to UV due to the particular chemistry of the plastic. And I do know that some topcoats, especially if they're improperly applied, will also yellow. Could you post some pictures so we can get an idea of the type/extent of the color fade?
My one and only Gundam, my friend bought it for me as a joke and now we buy each other one every birthday.
I can’t describe it...the blue is lighter and there is a white/yellowish tint to it. I’m afraid pics won’t be useful as I have just applied mr. Hobby matt coat on it.
You need some cloth to drape around the GM's waist, a lot of red and brown paint, and one of Kotobukiya's Heavy Weapon SWORDS and you've got the Pyramid(GM)Head.
