I wanna try my hand at painting a Sazabi Ground Type with an RG. Swap out the base thick fuel tanks with thinner ones and get a Jagd Doga beam MG for it.

question: I have a model of Anakin's arm that I had on display, and it fell off the shelf. one of the fingers broke at the bending part and now I'm trying to figure out how to repair it
    [IMG]
the entire thing is a kid's science kit that also serves as one of those toy cranes, I just removed the base of it
    [IMG]
the part is supposed to be flexible plastic, any ideas how to reattach it
    [IMG]
the lower black part is the "tendon" that pulls the fingers when the hand closes

If it's just for display, why not try and glue it back together? Just put a bead of Fast Cyanoacrylate on it and hold it together for a bit. Should be able to get it to bond with the backhand. Put some on both the tendon edge and the knuckle where it's supposed to connect, let it swell and then press it into the backhand.

We got a Zaku down! Nice job so far!

    -

I'm stripping the paint from the seated figure because it fell from the gator clip and bounced into the brush cleaner I had in the paint pan, but my paint job on it was getting gnarly. But I can make up for it again.

The standing figure is coming along, I'm just patching the red stripes and white fabric before I get to the boots and face.

You're not going to be able to just glue that and make it good as new or anything. No adhesive will stand up to the tension. Best bet would probably be to epoxy in a piece of zip tie or something, if you're concerned with it still being functional and aesthetically similar.

/r/Gunpla discord suggested that instead of trying to reattach the joint, I should replace it entirely with something else, a strong yet flexible plastic. Which led me to adding zip ties into the hand.
    [IMG][IMG]
I've got some super small nails coming in the mail now that'll thread the ties from the opposite side of the hands like how the tendons are anchored into the fingertips.

It's the Robot Spirit Ver. Ka one which is also roughly the 1/144 scale.
GFF figure would have been a tad smaller.
Third party one is mostly pirating Robot Spirit so very close lol.
Almost bought that third party Penelope before HGUC or Robot Spirits one even came out and glad I didn't.

Jupiter Armor is tempting but I am trying to be selective especially .
when the season 2 armours are coming and they all look great.

Also, from the side story with another armour set and core gundam variant.

Will definitely get this one if made into kit.

Totally down for the new Core Gundam. I'm in love with all the season 1 armors. Me getting the 2 armors is dependent if they're cool in the show.

Cracked out the stand and effect parts. God it's so nice to have the stuff together.

I am finished painting the standing Banagher!
The seated one just needs a couple of needlepoint touches and I have to clean all that excess accent liner off the cradle to make some extra touches of gray. Then it's a quick clearcoat followed by an accent wash.

    20200227_004052.jpg

I'll also clean up his base plate too.

I wonder if there's any of those Fin Funnel arms for MGs that attach to the base, I don't have enough of the ones I got between my Nu, Hi-Nu, and Double Fin Funnel sets, plus having them all from just the back is boring

I feel like the AOZ kits are exactly what people think of when they criticize the ridiculous and over the top mecha designs that look functionally pointless and aesthetically cluttered.

Question for anyone who owns both, does the RG 00 gundam hold up the Raiser equipment any better than the HG kit does, or are they equally as likely to droop under pressure?

Coincidentally, I have the Hazenthley II Rah preordered through Blue Fin, and it has almost the entire body of the Woundwort I would need to combine with the Hazel Custom to make the other configuration.... so half of these new exclusives are unnecessary for me.

At the same time, proving modular, swappable construction works fine even with older kits.
I keep waiting for the Master Grade Version of the Hazel with the split color scheme.. to be Exclusive.

Of the two, I only have the RG but its Binders hold up pretty well. I've had it locked in a tilted pose for nearly a year now and it hasn't sagged at all.

Well that's good to know, if not ultimately decisive. What I'm trying to ask is if I'm really not invested in the 00 raiser, but still want a solid kit at that particular scale, is it worth it to pay extra for a Real Grade purchase, or can I get away with saving a few bucks and get one of the many High Grades(why so freaking many bandai?) and still have a solid enough model?

The proportions of the HG 00 Raiser aren't as sleek as the RG, but it's still a pretty solid kit (despite it being 10+ years old).
