I have the latest Diaclone Tridasher in my warehouse at HLJ, and I don't want to ship it by itself. I am holding out hope that they will get extra stock of the MG Barbatos when he arrives later this month, but if not, I would like to add another 1/100 MG to my order. Any suggestions? I've never built a Zaku or a Gouf. What are the best MG representations of those Zeon suits?
Version 2.0 of either Zaku or Gouf!
It might look like one but that Gouf is no Zaku!
Seriously, Version 2.0 Gouf. go for it, @Sinestro00
I can only blame myself for this.. I misaligned the collar piece on Odysseus, and it pulled the front chest armor away as I'm trying to cement the parts together. Didn't realize what happened and I was trying to clamp parts together against the resistance of a single 2mm post.
long story short, bond failed, and stretched the melted plastic. I took it all apart to try and salvage it, but I've got this kind of a gap now.
And yeah. ........"F***.."
So, time to get in touch with Blue Fin's replacement parts service.
I can work on the rest of the Penelope in the meantime and come back to Odysseus later.
MG MS-07B Gouf Ver.2.0
That's a bingo!
Thanks! I’m gonna wait until the end of next week to se what’s up with Barbatos, and I’ll grab it then.
That’s the one. Paint it grey and strap some jet engines to it and you’ve got the best Gouf.
It still bothers me that they haven't gotten around to doing a Gouf Custom 2.0 yet. That's the one I want. Not really a huge fan of how the stock 2.0 looks, especially with its "elephant nose".
Speaking of 08th Team, when Ez8 2.0?
I dunno about the Ground Types.. to be honest I they're kind some of the best of the now "older" Master Grades. They got the proportions right, details are crisp and parts design was almost seamless. the only flaw was the Hinge-Hands.
Bronze Tier. Didn't expect this to be a hand grenade. Let's hope Bandai works out all the bugs before re-releasing the mold as the HGUC Gundam Mk-III.
I'm only interested in the arm..
I'm glad it's being released separately.
There's also the neck that doesn't move, no internal shoulder mechanics, wiggling ball jointed hips, knees have basic 90 degree bend, knee pads that don't really move, feet are basically static, and no full skeleton... but yeah it seems to have aged real well and doesn't take ages to get into a kneeling pose with the cannon or anything.
I'm one of those guys who will be willing to forgive a kit as long as it's INTERESTING and COOL, and really Seltsam hits those two criteria for me. Sure I can get the arm and the lance as a add on kit but...I don't get everything else. The colors, the cool head, the overall look...I'm going to have to do a ton of kitbashing and work that I just don't wanna do when I could just buy the kit.
As long as it looks cool on my shelf I can do certain amount of work, like tightening up joints and such. Wouldn't be the first time I had to do such things!
Speaking of which I've got 100 bucks for Christmas from Dad and I wanna buy a MG kit. Not sure. I think my local Hobby Town has an Aegis Gundam that I do want, and Lunamaria's Gunner Zaku Warrior. Also a Gundam Alex 2.0. But I'm not sure. The one I do want...EX-S 1.5 isn't in the range of affordability with just 100 bucks, and I have to admit looking over the MG list on Dalong there isn't really anything that strikes me.
Any reccomendations on things you guys liked? Maybe I can be convinced on something.
it's Guren mk. VIII
The Gundam Base Tokyo previews the MG Gundam Barbatos and HGBD:R Jupitive Gundam.
these two ZETA variants complement eachother in multiple ways, right down to the niggling points in their build.
naturally, being nearly identical kits, both have the knee cabling sleeves that look fantastic, but can be a but of a fiddly pain to assemble;
- and, while the 006C1 has the radome/optical sensor suite that begs to be detail painted;
- the 006A1 has wings with leading-edge surfaces that require one to whip up a custom deep orange tone to get things looking right;
even with these sticking points, these are still the most personally-satisfying GUNPLA i've ever done,
and, -being pretty much out of space now, as well as just about out of personal "Must Have" MSes-
probably, the last i'll be doing for at least a good while.
well, i'm certainly glad i saved the best for last...
