That kind of looks like Rangiku from Bleach EDIT: Yup, its her. Found the image. Not sure if you already got the image, but I'll PM it to you instead of posting it since I would consider it close to NSFW.
Got some nice old(ish) HGUC kits. The newest among them is Zaku the Ground War set from 2009 while the oldest one is HGUC Hi-Zaku from 2000. Worked on my Guncannon during weekend. Shortened the thighs, upper arms and neck. Still not sure about its look but don't really feel like spending too much energy on it either.
I forgot TFW had such a robust Gundam thread going on! I got (back) into them a few months back. Did a few back around 2002 when Bandai was still releasing them over here, but have gotten some more over a snap decision to buy a Zaku at Hastings. Now I've build half a dozen, and working on a MG for the first time. Also got a decent backlog after hitting Barnes and Noble last month and getting a bunch for half off (RG Wing Zero Custom, RG 00 Raiser, MG Exia Dark Matter, MG Fenice). Still experimenting with different things like painting vs stickers and different scales and grades.
I keep going back to Gundam 00's 2nd Opening Ash Like Snow myself. I wouldn't normally call it my type of music, but in conjunction with its incredibly well composited animation sequence, it really captures that point of lost innocence in the series, when the shit hits the fan and the grim stakes are realized by all. It's just grim, raw, and intense. But man, nothing gets me as pumped for a series than any of Build Fighter's openings, but especially the second ones for each of the series (Wimp for Build Fighters, Just Fly Away for Try). Just really energizing riffs, coupled with dazzling animation that really sets the series' mood for high spectacle.
My favorite too. DBZ power levels, region based suit designs, short, sweet series and a complete line of complementing toys. What's not to love?!
Man, Gundam Wing's opening animation is still gorgeous as heck (although I realize this was probably taken from the remastered Blu-Ray release, it's looking extra sharp here). Imagine if the series itself could have been done with that level of fidelity of detail.
I did finally get my kits this week, but I will definitely be hard pressed to use them ever again given the difficulty in communication. I think I will just pay a little more in the future and go with Gundam Planet.
I'm kinda glad I haven't payed attention to KR since W. Also I think Gundam Gusion Rebake Full City has got to be up there as one of the most nonsensical string of words put together in a mecha name.
General Universal Neuro-Link Dispersive Autonomic Maneuver Especially egregious since none of the SEED Gundams have anything resembling a "Neuro-Link". No brain-wave scanning "Zero System" or anything. Starts getting even more ridiculous when each successive Gundam OS comes with a new acronym that magically still spells out "GUNDAM", despite the term "Gundam" never being acknowledged in the series at all, except off-handedly by Kira. The units are never officially designated as such. But while "Generation Unrestricted Nuclear Drive Assault Module" may not roll off the tongue, it at least has something to do with the series, showing up in the first generation nuclear reactor-powered suits (Freedom, Justice, Providence). That first-generation "neuro-link" really means nothing at all in the context of the series.
i could have sworn Full City is a coffee house, so the Gundam is now a re-baked coffee bean?, still Gundam Frame Gusion Rebake Full City is a mouthful to say when you announced your launching sequence, for now in the recent episode Akihiro only said Gusion Rebake Full City, leaving out Gundam or Gundam Frame in its entirety, same with Mikazuki who only says Gundam Barbatos, leaving out the Lupus.
