Hot Toys Disney+ Variant Loki and Sylvie Official Pics and Details - The Toyark - News Sylvie $270 USD, Variant Loki $275 USD, pre-orders are live, to be out Q1/Q2 2023
Another reason not to order from Sideshow as they're doing underhanded tactics to US retailers this time.
I read that also on the Sylvie thread on Collector's Freak @Flapjacks. First SS is threating small overseas shops like Toys Buying Agent, Toyswonderland etc.. and now this.
Honestly, it's one more push for me to drop 1/6 stuff especially that I'm not that interested post Infinity saga. Might be a good thing to curtail the toy expenditures. The reason why Hot Toys stuff are expensive outside buying direct from Secret Base in HK is because of the mark up Sideshow imposes.
Wow, they are already going to lose or lost customers with the reward points change. So they keep digging the hole deeper. I'm probably done with them after i use my remaining reward points this year.
starting the end of this year (i think, not 100% sure when) rewards points expire a year after you earn them. so folks hoarding points for years need to buy or lose the points. that’s not me i’ve had enough to get a $40 out of pocket Hot Toy but when i use my remaining $180 i’m done with Sideshow.
Wow, I never really liked Sideshow to begin with but after this, fuck em. I have one HT on preorder and if they fuck with that shop so I can’t get the figure for “too good of a deal”, they can keep it and all their future releases. Or, I don’t know how close the tie is between HT and SS but maybe those companies should just drop SS as their distributor or whatever they are.
Sideshow has been going downhill for awhile. I stopped using them as much when they nuked the custom 1/6 sales board on sideshow freaks. They really fractured the custom community for awhile there when they did that.
As much as I'd like them to split as distributor, I think Hot Toys is too tight with Sideshow for anything to happen. Sideshow runs their business well for what it is, several companies use them as their distributor. I would wager that Sideshow sells more Hot Toys direct than Hot Toys does from Hong Kong. There's not that many big distributors out there, I'm not sure who else would even be able to support Hot Toys. I'm not sure I'd like Diamond distributing them.
Hot Toys needs a distributor that doesn't compete with the very retailers they supply. I can only think of Bluefin at this point as a candidate to take over. Or Hot Toys should renegotiate the contract for Sideshow to act strictly as a distributor and not to dictate a retailer's selling policy other than suggested retail price and/or limits to markdowns. If a retailer wants to offer free shipping, let them.
Damn. I’ve used them to buy HT Endgame Cap, Iron Man Mk 85, and Flame Toys 3K Megatron, but that’s it. I have Scarlet Witch and battle damaged Mk 85 preordered, and intended to preorder Sam Wilson Cap too, but after those I might shift away from them. Sounds like they run their company at the expense of suppressing others, which is malicious and unnecessary.
yeah, Sam Cap or Moff Gideon will be what i’m using my points on. After that i’m moving to Toy Dojo or sites like them.
Awesome collection! I have the Asmus Ash on order, but none of the others. If they're going back to do oldies like Back to the Future I'd love Terminator figures!
Thanks. I also have the Luxury Ash on order. I've actually got two other Terminator figures (eye repair look for Tech Noir, and a T2 Endoskeleton), but they wouldn't fit on my computer desk for the shot. I'm a pretty big Terminator 1 fan. Just about to pull the trigger on SSC's Michael Myers. I've got the ThreeZero one, but it kinda sucks. I've also got ThreeZero Leatherface that I never took out of the box. . .need to do that for Halloween!
