I guess you expect too little
That shit sold for $2050!
So I went to transform CW Skydive back into robot mode the other day, and when I tried to move one of his stabilizers back up, the plastic loop over the pin snapped! It is still attached but now there is stress marks on the plastic (red circles) and his fin is locked in place now since if I try and move it the plastic loop splits open.
Teeechnically it can be securely fixed, but the winglet will be floppy after the fix. Remove the pin, remove the part, pour some superglue into the crack and let it dry, then sand the entire joint on both the winglet and the robot leg so now it produces less friction/resistance working and then put it back together. It might not even look like a** afterwards...
It's an issue of bad tollerances between parts. The joint was always too tight and the loop was stressed more and more with every transformation until it just gave up.
So it was just bad luck and time...
I may try that. Any tips for getting the pin out? Also should I worry about the other fun and Air Raid's fins? Since he shares the same parts.
What a bummer.
It's usually soldering iron used to apply heat to the pin before punching it out. When a pin is placed as deep as on those CW figures shins it's usually done by fixing a thin piece of wire or a small nail to the tip of the iron so the heat can be conduced only to the pin without melting the plastic around.
I really don't like this kind of joints. Those hinge loops are octagonal or hexagonal in profile because they're supposed to work as soft ratchets to lock the rotating piece in the position but far too often the pins are slightly off-center or there's mold flash somewhere on the loop and those joints simply break this way with time...
Edit: As you've probably guessed, those panel joints are usually a pain in the back to fix... Just to seal the deal with how much they suck.
At least it wasn't Quickslinger.
Tell me about it. :-/
Ya I noticed it isn't a round loop, it has edges that seem to work against the slot it's in. It requires more force than is expected to bend them back.
I do t even have Quickslinger! (Alpha Bravo FTW) but I do have Fireflight, is the same issue present?
I got one to match that. Apparently it needs to be $30 more... For rasins I can assume.
If this is official, could it be the worst stock image ever?
Figure is DOTM Darksteel.
I will never unsee that face
I don't know if that's awesome or disappointing.
Abe Sapien? Is that you?
What is that?!??
Found this at a Walmart: Shadow Raider that someone pulled the head off of, replaced with SS Lockdowns regular head, took the gun, and threw in a grey version of CW Dragstrips gunsword (I forget who had it)
