So, Power of the Primes gave us some interesting takes on a lot of the classics and over the last two days I have been playing with some of the cassette bots I managed to collect. I was not a big fan of the fact that they turned the cassettes into triple changers as the third modes all look like crap, make no sense to the original characters, and all or which are really pathetic in execution. I have Rumble (a tank?), Howlback (a jet?), and Buzzsaw (a car?). Buzzsaws' robot mode, although evocative of his G1 transformation, looks more like a Bay interpretation when completed to me. The proportions are all weird and I don't care for it. I forgot I even had this one because he was trapped in Soundwave's chest in my display cabinet lol. But I did find him and I've been messing around with him and came up with a mode that more closely fits his G1 roots, although mixed with a bit of Cybertronian influence as well. I'm willing to admit I'm not likely the first person to discover this "mistransformation" as it's been out for years now and someone has had to have figured this out before I did. But I've not seen it and I thought I'd share the idea just in case. I think this mode is a bit more appealing than the fat wings, emaciated body, and fat tail mode. If you want to you can fold out the wheels in this mode and pretend their drone propellers for a hover mode. It at least makes sense to have them then. This is now my officially preferred robot mode for Buzzsaw. Any thoughts or comments?
