Yeah, I dunno if there is a "first" when it comes to the fist covering seemed a bit like the method and variations of it were dropping from lots of folks around the same time, I mean "put 5mm peg in a 5mm grip" is a pretty simple notion, where seeing if the shoulder tabs worked up top has that extra bit of experimental thinking.

Earthrise Snapdragon + Siege Brunt = Mechagodzilla?

Only part of Brunt that I couldn't really incorporate was the awkward turret piece.

My Fasttrack had been in spear mode so long, I'd actually forgotten his torso was still in Scorps' box when I put him into vehicle mode this weekend, and that forgetting prompted me to give trying to use that part as a spear grip one last go, and it seems I may possibly have cracked it?!

I flipped out his inner torso road clip and popped one of the arm/haft's shoulder pegs into it's port
    [IMG] [IMG]
Popped it in his open mitt notching the shoulder pegs into the back notch of his claw "palm"/outer side, then pinched it in place with the inner claw, and then closed the "finger" claws to for a better gripped look.
    [IMG] [IMG]

Close up of the gripped spear to show the shoulder pegs notched top and bottom.
    [IMG] [IMG]

    And BOSH! It's gripped, it's sorted - LET'S OFF-ROAD!
Now it doesn't prevent the typical elbow flop of the spear shaft if the spearhead weight leans the wrong way BUT it stays in place when moving the arm way better than just pinching the spear shaft itself, even though there is a bit of lengthwise lateral wiggle or pivot due to the clearance around and friction of the chest clip's 5mm port. Mine at least was always popping out of the pinch grip with almost any movement of the arm before with just the arms/haft pinched, this so far seems way more stable.
Also I've swapped the legs for spear mode so that the hollow back sides of his waist and groin bit aren't clearly on show like in the official images.
Now to figure out whether to get a second Fasttrack or not to try go humongous on the spear front?

So, after seeing pictures of earth mode Sideswipe today... his car mode kept reminding me of Machine Robo Supercar / Gobot's Turbo. I was like but if you flip the torso over in robot mode, earth mode Sideswipe becomes Turbo!

Since I obviously don't have earth mode Sideswipe, I'd give it a try with Tigertrack. :D

Also, I guess a orange (yellowish?) Turbo does exist!

My daughter built the one with Fasttrack's head, I did the one with Sixguns. We were really bored inside since it's so hot here.

Not much of a change, but I like to turn the gun sideways in tank mode and imagine the scope is a machine gun

Yes, the Gigantyrant Spear *IS* indeed possible!
Impractical, AND inadvisable - but possible nonetheless!
It's tricky to balance, with an exponential increase in potential floppage, even when it isn't flopping at a joint it has the structural integrity of a Shaolin Monks show demonstration polearm, flexing under it's own weight, and it's possible a poorly planned pose that causes an accelerated flop in a very wrong direction could possibly provide a snapped barrel of two, if the LEGO tube didn't give first, plus due to a quirk of clearances even dual wielding the bigger stick Scorps' limited mitts and the distance between them mean he only has the clearance to torso grip at the second arm down either end (the spearheads prevent a proper closing of pincer on the arm plugged directly into it), and yet, despite all my caveats, aesthetically, well, for me I think it's worth the risk!
I leave it to yourselves to make your own decision on the matter!
