I almost didn't get this. So glad I did. Within the context of the Diaclone reboot line, this is a great 'size class' at an introductory price point (relative to the other toys in the line) that retains enough of the modular elements of the larger pieces without sacrificing too much of the draw of being reconfigured or recombined with other figures in the line.

 

An excellent idea...I"m terrified of the prices tho, let's go have a quick look...

It’s insane what we pay for toys now. Not too long ago, I would balk at spending anything near $100 for toys and if I did it, it had to be something extremely special. Now, I spend $20 on toys that I think are worth under $10 and they are ok and sometimes great but mostly unsatisfying and I feel they are overpriced. When I spend around $40+ on a quality figure, I still think they are overpriced but I never really think about it because comparatively speaking, they are well worth the value. More fun to play with, better looking, better articulation, overall quality and qc.

 

No to get too far off tiopic, but yeah... what you said. Ive 'only' been at this hobby for 5 years, and the price increases this last year - sheesh! And the sad/scary thing is Im starting to just shrug my shoulders at it.

I'm starting to accept this as well, and generally agree, if the figure has lots of posing options and is well built (and as a bonus, lots of accessories) then it's sort of worth it really. I've always preferred to buy quality over quantity.

Martin, my Ant Assassin, is a tad unlucky. The assassination field is crowded, and it's tough to break into the market, but everyone has to eat, so Martin has been taking any job he can get his hands on.

@Another Stray Toaster - We've got 2 responses as a trap, and free sugar as poison. I say pull a Indiana Jones and the Ark of the Covenant/Ghostbuster's Afterlife trailer. Open the lid and see all the evil spirits fly out and create some havoc for Martin.
