The surface didn't seem that dusty when I posted them, but that flash made all the dust notable.

 

Got myself this second-hand Classics Mirage for only MYR 50. Not gonna lie, proportion-wise this figure in robot mode is very odd-looking for better or worse (And for me, using the front spoiler as the 'weapon" is just silly).



The vehicle mode however, is quite cool-looking however. Among the two modes of this figure, this is the better mode.




It's definitely an interesting figure, and I'll try to customize this figure a bit later to see how I can make the robot mode looks "less weird".

 

Another classic example of the great and affordable official offering vs the very expensive but beautiful and accurate third-party offering.

Not sure if customization works on figures are allowed here.....

This one is a more trickier customization than my previous customization, and I decided to give a second-hand Classics Mirage that I bought 5mm port compactibility this time around.

I do like this figure a bit, but the fact that the hands can only used to wield the silly "front spoiler crossbow" weapon thing and nothing else is bugging me (And the fact you need to remove the front spoiler crossbow thing to fully transform it isn't to my taste) makes me want to ditch the silly "front spoiler crossbow" weapon thing and give this figure actual 5mm port compatibility.

For this minor project, I also bought a KO Movie scout class Hardtop and cut of the hands as the new "hands". As the ports on the hand is a bit smaller than 5mm, I sanded down the port with a sanding file like the one below here until it's 5mm wide:



After that, I remove the hands from my Classics Mirage and cut out the original fists; The new fist is then stick on where the original fists were before with some super glue, and the new fist was later sanded down a bit to fit into the forearm. After the"new" fist was shaped right, a few thin coats of dark blue spray paint was applied on the "new" fists.



At the same time, the top engine intake part was removed and a 5mm port was drilled and sanded down to allow 1 5mm weapon to be stored in vehicle mode.

One of the "new" fists installed after the paint was dry:



Now, the "new" fist allows this figure to use any 5mm peg weapons (like Siege Bluestreak's blaster here):

For now, my attempt of customizing my Classics Mirage is a success.

Not gonna lie, I'm enjoying Classics Mirage a bit more than I thought (Especially after some customization and modifications):





After goy myself this figure, the first thing I do is giving this figure a new pair of 5mm port compatible fists, a new scratch-built blaster, and reshaping the front spoiler "crossbow" thing to allow the transformation without needing to remove it (I trimmed down the silly "front spoiler crossbow" thing, scratch-build new tabs to allow secure tabbing in robot mode, spray-painted the entire part with silver paint, and permanently stick in under the front nose with super glue); It's not the easiest of modifications, and relies more on "trial and error".

But now, I'm a lot more happy with my Classics Mirage.
