    I think its styrene?

    I dunno, I bought it at Hobby Lobby and its comes in 12x12 white sheets from 1/8 all the way to 1/4. It says its paint able but like all other Styrofoam, the paint eats away the surface...so it takes many light coats to get the desired effect. Anyways, I just cut what I wanted out of it with an exacto knife and a steel rule. ;)

    You should try flipping his toes out into the proper position. It really helps his stability, and gives you another surface to apply teh shiny to. I hit mine with the silver sharpie to make his toes stand out more.
