Hm. I only hit Gold this season so I think I'll get Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. There's not much else that interests me on that list.

I actually bought Mario 64 just a while ago on the Wii U's "Wii-mode" as they still have the online store available.
Should just have waited so I could play it in 720p in regular Wii U mode. Meh.

Has anyone ordered from this guy before: raphnet technologies - N64 controller to Wiimote adapter?

I've been reading some online reviews, and while the cables are definitely homebrew-ish, it sounds like they work well. Would love to bust out a real atomic purple controller to go with the new VCs.

Looks like he has an adapter for the SNES too, which would be cheaper then trying to get the Japanese Club Nintendo controller.

Dang it. Forgot about the coins ending the other day on the 31st. Was gonna pick up Mario Kart 8 and add the coins in. That's two times I messed up trying to pick up that game lol. First time it was on sale for $45.

So, I've been checking out Splatoon related news, and I have to ask...What's with the incredibly hostile (somewhat irrational) backlash in response to it's lack of voice chat? I mean, sure, it would be nice for the option to be there, but I've seen people act like it's a major deal breaker. It looks like a fun, solid game, but because it lacks a single feature they won't buy it?

Disappointment is something I can understand. Not this irrational outrage.

Outrage is silly, but the Gamepad does has a mic built in. I haven't read anything about regarding this, but I don't know why they deliberately wouldn't include it. MK8 and Smash have it, even if only when "with friends".

I don't agree with the reasoning, at least not entirely, but apparently the reason is that the director of the game wanted to avoid the toxic communities that everyone is all too familiar with. People yelling obscenities, racial slurs and other unpleasant gibberish with no purpose besides being a jerk.

It's perfectly understandable given the nature of the game and the fact that those kind of people can in fact ruin a game for everyone else, but I don't entirely agree with it. People have noted the existence of the mute feature in response. I don't care about it's presence personally, but as I said I understand those who do being disappointed. It doesn't make sense for it to be a deal-breaker, though.

Agreed. I still feel like they could have included taunts, gestures, premade text boxes that appear on the teammates' screens, or a button to mark location (a little arrow appears where you point?) though, since it's such a team based game.

I think there are D-Pad commands, at least. Simple things like "C'mon" or something.

Apparently some other developers agree that voice chat really isn't that great in games, (and yet others say it's nessicary).

Personally.. Leave voicechat out of games. If I -really- needed to voicechat with my friends while playing.. I'll grab a blu-tooth headset and use Vent, or Mumble or Skype on my phone.

While I don't are about it, it's such a glaring omission. They could have restricted it to people on your friend list if they were worried about bullies.

That I can agree with. I agree with most of the alternatives that people presented.

Still, lack of a single feature isn't enough reason to pass on the game. Quite frankly if the lack of voice chat is enough to kill their interest, I don't think those people were that interested in the game to begin with.

Ridiculous. Having to run a secondary device alongside another piece of electronics perfectly capable of performing such a task... It's not 1997, it's 2015.

Why people are against options baffles me.
