So guys, do you like being scared when playing a video game? Being scared means that the game developers did a good job in putting fear into us.......

1st game I was freaked out on was Dead Space. First horror I've ever played, then I got used to its gameplay. I will be pretty happy if I got Dead Space 3.

Then I heard about Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It totally gave me nerves when I confronted those monsters.  I'm excited about the sequel..........
The only game that has made me scream legit............

So does anyone love to be scared when playing video games? :)

Sometimes wish that I could, but I found stuff like dead space hilarious...probably cause I spent most of it talking to the necromorphs in an extremely posh accent with my brother in the same room :lol
The nursery from Dead Space 2 was creepy, but not scary.

I don't consider Dead Space a "horror" game, due to most of the scares being jumpscares.

I love Dead Space, but it's creepy at best rather than actually scary. I remember playing the original Silent Hill and actually being in 2 minds as to if I wanted to open the next door. That to me is a horror game doing its job properly. Sadly the game hasn't aged well.

If you're into horror games, I fully recommend Project Zero (Fatal Frame in the US)

shame. i guess no one here remembers the first resident evil game on playstation 1 and sega saturn?

either because y'all were too young to remember or because y'all weren't born yet.

back when R.E. was released, i had a high fear of dead bodies and zombies. read a review on it and decided to rent it.

oh god the zombie's moans, the zombie dog busting through the window. not haveing enough ammo and making sure i use whatever ammo i did have wisely.

the music, creepy as hell . the scene of a zombie munching on your fallen comrade, looking at you with those dead eyes.

i hyper-ventelated so many times playing that game. but thankfully it help me get over my fear of zombies and dead bodies.

The first Resident Evil did a number on my nerves when I first played it. It's laughable now, but it was ground breaking back then.

F.E.A.R. was scary as fuck. The whole 'evil little girl' thing is still very unsettling to me.

DOOM back in '93. Late summer night, storm moving in, my cousin down the street and I were playing co-op via the modem. My PC had no sound yet, but I remember on the final stage of level 2 when I came around the corner and BOOM!, the Cyber Demon boss right in front of me launching missiles! That scared the crap out of me, along with the lightning and thunder outside adding to effect.

i rented doom 64 in 1997 and it has the giant cyber demon. but at the time i didn't know that.

i was using cheat codes to go to any level. i started moving and ran into a fork in the road. i checked left and nothing was there. i saw a projectal fly pass me, i turned around and OMGWTF IS THAT THING?!

    shoot it-shoot it-shoot it!
    it shot at me! aaaaahhhhh!!!!
    im dead!! aaaahhhh!!!!
    turn the game off!!!
    TURN THE F@#$ING GAME OFF!!!!!

i pulled the game out of the N64, put in the blockbuster video box, tossed it at the living room couch, told my dad the game is due back.

i swear ill never play another doom game ever again... that lasted until this past october when i got doom 3 BFG edition. :)

I didn't have a memory card back then, but for RE1, I'd play up to the part where the lizard men started to pop up, thats when I quit the game every time.

RE1 is probably my favorite horror game, but I really like Dead Space. The atmosphere in the first was what made it scary, and if you ramp up the difficulty, the lack of items makes it frightening as well, reminding me of RE1 in some ways.

Slender is pretty great too, even if it is short and repetitive.

Ah yes, the Hunters? I'll never forget the first time I ran into one of them. Just standing in a hallway, waiting.

The other major shock was the long hallway lined with windows, when the hounds would crash through. Man, pretty sure I peed a little at that.
