Sounds like an April's Fools joke to me, guys. Amazed by all the people just straight out accepting this as truth. Come on, even the things Bay 'said' are a direct copy of what he said in an earlier pre-ROTF interview.

I wouldn't mind if this turns out to be true, but I'm looking forward to the nerdrage when this turns out to be a joke.  

 

Yeah, might be an April's Fool. If so, it's a bit mundane... as it's not so "AMAZING" or completely "out there" (after all, he was being lined up for ROTF).

If it's true, then great; as a Trek and TF fan (as loads of people round here seem to be!) I'd be happy.

As much as I dislike Bay, the man knows how to pull off a good April Fool's joke. Besides, isn't Leonard Nimoy retired from acting?

I've seen too many people come back from retirement over the years, in sports and entertainment, for the word to really mean anything to me. Its about like "commitment" in college football recruiting. Empty word.

This is the best news in this franchise since Cullen voicing Prime.

Nimoy is an in-law of Bay's and helped to secure a filming location for the first movie, and he said he would've wanted to play The Fallen in the 2nd movie, so it is not a prank to believe he would be voicing an elder Autobot in this one

 

So I guess "retirement" for actors these days means "I'm not doing this thing, but I'm more than willing to do that thing"?

Oh Hollywood, you so crazy.

 

How come Bay can cast so well for the voices, but when it comes to live action actors, he stinks at it?

 

Because the robots are super fucking cool, and need to sound super fucking cool.

 

Can't say that this comes as too much of a surprise..but it is wonderful to have confirmation and kudos to the Bay Gang for getting Nimoy for this role!! Sentinel Prime will be even more awesome...he has one of the best looking Bay version robotic forms and now a voice to match!!  

As for Nimoy being retired...not really, he's been guesting on Fringe..and doing voice work..that's not like have to get into hours of makeup, so he shouldn't be too overworked for the role  

 

I agree with that. The robots are so complex in the movies that ILM can't keep them on the screen at all times, so they try to make them as amazing as they should be. But the actors? Well at least they don't hire people that nobody knows who would probably suck even more and look average.

 

You know what could've been awesome if he was casted as Shockwave since Shockwave is technically an evil giant robot version of Spock.
