that hinge slides/rocks down

 

That's what I gathered from Ben's video but I cannot get it to budge.

 

mine were not that stiff went down easy

at first i couldn't get it lined up but make sure the feet are in the right place and get those legs and hips pushed in properly when closing it up and it will all line up

 

transformed to robot and back and got stuck on that back part i managed to do wtf   one thing this will not last loads of transformations , snapped a small tab off with ease where i said ben missed a step it was the really small tabs that should be solid being that small , and where the bridge connects to the nose of the spacecraft one of the pegs is already wearing down and the holes are bigger meaning its loose and not pegged in tight anymore , those knee ratchets don't feel like they will last too if this is transformed regular

first impressions this felt solid but it seems the plastic is actually made from purple gummy bears

i don't normally have regret buying anything but i'm not feeling great about this purchase ( and for me to say that is actually bad because i love most transfomers i go for   )

"edit" it does look good in alt mode when all lined up tho and robot mode looks cool ( still not been able to do it again put the thing down must have been a fluke last time )

 

Without the front spikes, it's 12" long. You can collapse the wings down, and then it's about 4.5" wide.

BTW it's 7.25" tall with the stand, which is absolutely necessary for display.

 

I'm sorry to hear that Purple Potato has ended up being, well, a potato for you. I'll see if there're any other reports of shoddy plastic, maybe I'll cancel my order. It's being sent out after CNY so I have some time.

What must've been a fluke last time? The rear without a crack down the middle?

Despite the bad instructions and fiddly leg transformation, he's largely a great figure!



I've noticed that a lot of people (including those transformation videos!) get something wrong on the alt mode. Can you guess what it is?

 

Hi. Could you please tell me how many times you've transformed your copy? I'd like to know if you've experienced the tab erosion @deathsheadII has. What are your thoughts regarding the knee ratchets?

The tabs have been pretty much fine so far, I've transformed it 4 times.

Haven't had any problems with the knee ratchets.

What is this shockwave from ? G1 ?

 

yeah the back was a fluke and there was still a small crack but the back and front where the lighter purple parts are were together

maybe it's just me and i'm not having a good time with the figure

"edit" well it's three times if you count going from robot to spaceship then spaceship to robot and the 3rd time i have given up on the back part of the spaceship

twice and the knee ratchets are now friction joints they feel like they have worn away there is no clicking anymore still quite tight but deffo worn those teeth away, its moving those legs parts quite a few times to try and line it all up which i have not been able to do the second time it's sitting mid-transformed , anyone that likes to transform their bot's lots i wouldn't recommend doing so all the time once you have it in the mode you like the most leave it there !! i wish i never touched it the first time i got it right and don't know how i done it  

this things a fucking purple turd a good looking purple turd but still a turd the plastic is soft and made out of purple gummies , look how easy it is scratching too

i hardly touched that tab and it fell off and the other one is not looking too clever
those pegs do not sit in tight anymore

 

If they released a Shattered Glass version of this toy would it be called Yukon Gold?

alt mode is galvatron's ship from the G1 animated movie in 1986. bot mode is heavily influenced by G1 shockwave but obviously its stylized and has kibble from the obviously different alt mode (g1 shockwave was space gun).

 

Holy moly, this looks bad! I'm really apprehensive about my copy, now.
