Surprised this wasn\'t made as a G1-style Tidal Wave.

 

That's animated Omega Supreme. Bot mode aesthetic for Potato here is G1-esque. G1 Omega is more gray/brownish with yellowish accents as opposed to the goldenrod Ark.


Not to say that I wouldn't want a proper Animated Omega Supreme, but even his Ark mode isn't really as evocative of the G1 Ark, being more stubby, rounded and adorable, with more red/gray coloration as opposed to the golden tombstone:

Find me a Shockwave that DIDN'T immediately look like G1. Hell, even Bay couldn't mangle him up too terribly bad, with the cannon, ears, and cyclops. But if we were to get into semantics, G1 Shockwave was never this ship. Having a G1 Omega (with necessary liberties, of course) as an Ark counter would be an interesting figure and a nice nod to an underrepresented iteration of the character. Hell, even using the Ark II from the same.movie would make sense for Omega, what with the multiple components of the ship tying into G1 Omega's partsforming

 

Looks awesome. I\'m a little confused at why the chose to make it shockwave out of everyone. You\'d think it would have been a sweep or even some weird design of galvatron. Still, looks pretty cool.

 

Why would Galvatron fly himself? Tell me, have you ever seen Shockwave and this ship together at the same time?

 

...Animated Shockwave for one? Guy looked more like Whirl than anything else, with the blue/gray, claw hands and far more lanky proportions.


The premise I was making in my initial post was the inference that Shockwave was chosen to be this figure because he's one of the few really purple characters that match the ship's color scheme outright. That's why I joked that the only characters I knew of that matched the Ark's scheme (and Autobot ship colors in general) were three orange guys - picks that were just as silly and arbitrary as Shockwave in light of the color.

That said, I see your position. At this point, why the hell not? Why even stop at Omega Supreme? Let's make the Ark out of Action Master Powerflash, who's even less represented in Transformers and has no altmode to speak of. Inexplicable altmodes for everyone!

 

To be fair, Animated Shockwave was purple later on. And I have no clue who Powerflash is but I'm in! Everyone's a BotBot!

 

It's this poor sod, whose action feature is that he could wear his rolling luggage as a hat.

Shit if we're doing Action Masters, why not bring this tangent full circle and make it Omega Spreem? Or even FURTHER and make the Ark a Shockwave upgrade that is exclusively the orange bits on HIS Action Master figure. #MakeTransformersStupidAgain

 

I had forgotten about animated Shockwave. Not that it matters for this subject but, didn't he have an alternate face? He was a Decepticon infiltrator/spy in the Autobot ranks, right?

 

He was Longarm Prime as a spy, yes.

 

I've been asking for an Omega Spreem for years. Only MMC ever came close with their April Fools image a few years back.

Makes me wish for a properly articulated 3P Animated Shockwave...

I think this cinches it. Listen, Lemon Tree: we want an army of Shockwaves cosplaying as ships, kinda like those oddball Japanese models where the characters are teenage girls with battleship parts welded to their butts.

More or less. Starwing's got a SLIGHT distinction insofar as she's KIND of an homage to Frame Arm Girls, who are androids(?) that have parts resembling those of Frame Arms mecha:



But yes. For the most part. On a more serious note, this could easily turn into something like the T-Beasts line, where instead of everyone getting some robot animal mode, everyone gets some kind of spacecraft mode.

 

It looks like this could fit well into my fleet of Shockwaves made from Siege (regular and black) and the combiner wars legends class ones (I have 4)
