The Splitter Unit was designed to allow for multiple smaller drones to be controlled from a central unit, allowing it to be in more than one place at once.

In robot mode, the unit features the ability to gain attributes from each drone: 1(Orange), 2(Blue), 3(Yellow), 4(Black) and the core(White). Drone 1 gives the Unit the ability to jet forward at high speed, used on conjunction with the core, it can glide as well. Drone 2 can launch missiles, 3 can perform piercing electrified kicks and 4 can act as a shield and radar. Unlike other combining units, it can function with the two arm limbs missing, however at decreased efficiency.
In drone squadron mode, the core and drone 1 are powered by standard flight, whereas the rest use hover systems. All functions are the same except for 3, who gains the ability to shoot electrified Cluster Missiles. The drones all together excell in data gathering and disorientation of the enemy.
Let's just say, creative liberty was only taken once I realized the design was similar to another source material

Now that I think about it, it is kinda similar. I meant that by accident after I colored the two leg drones and designed the head, it reminded me of Kamen Rider Fourze, so I just kinda continued the design around that idea.
