In one alternate version of Geewun, "The Ultimate Doom" ended with Cybertron exploding in space near Earth. During the explosion, Vector Sigma was thrown into a factory/office building, before unleashing mysterious energies... To create the Functicons! Made up of a power core, office printer, assembly-row arm, small drone, and a computer-turned Ratbat ripoff, Factori has no purpose in life but to find his purpose in no other method but to ask. Unbeknownst to his dull mind and the warring factions, Factori is held together purely by the power of the shattered Vector Sigma.
