Well, as many of my more weird projects start out, I was bored. I had been given 2 out of the five FOC Combaticons (Blast Off and Brawl), and was impatiently awaiting the time when I could go shopping. I looked at Brawl, who was in leg mode at the time, and I thought something about how odd Bruticus would look, based on the box pics. I wondered if I could do an upgrade, then grabbed one of the Lego Technic pieces on my desk, and wondered if it would fit in Brawl's combiner port. Turns out, it did. However, I was presented with a minor problem, this being that the fit was quite loose. However, salvation came in the form of this piece: I can't remember exactly what it's called, but it has two extensions for Brawl's combiner port to grab onto. I was actually fairly amazed that this worked. After that, I tackled the lack of ankle, thinking that Brawl's hands, when flipped out, would make perfect attachment points for a new ankle module Keep in mind that this is all prototype stuff. This piece, for instance, has a stand in foot because that's what I had handy. Also, due to the spur of the moment nature of this thing, some pictures are bad. To compare, here is Brawl with his upgrades: And stock: The upgrade also includes a second knee joint. How to put it together: First, you flip out Brawl's hands, all the way. Then, you plug the pegs on the foot piece in to the hands, then flip them closed. After that, plug the upper pegs onto the combiner hand halves. Finally, wedge the knee piece onto the combiner port. Well, that's all for now. I'll be making more parts for the upgrade, after I get the remaining three team members.
