Anyone seen this new series on CN yet? I used to read the old skool Legion comic books and so far, its pretty damn cool. Plus ppl who really know DC comics lore, might notice a cameo by a certain member of the Justice League and his sidekick in the superman museum in future Metropolis. Ed
I'm only gonna say this: Superman in his teens ripped from his timeline, fighting superbaddies in the future. No. Just...no.
I saw one full episode and half of another. It's not terrible, but it's sure no Justice League. I'd put it on par with Fantastic Four's current animated show. Not great, but about what would be expected. Especially for a kids show.
Um, that is DIRECTLY from the original LOSH comic book lore, same thing with supergirl being part of the legion, please research before you act like you know what yourre talking about. Ed
In case you don't believe me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superboy And here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legion_of_Super-Heroes Ed
I've never been a big fan of Superman or the Legion, but I'm enjoying it as a fun kids show, which is really what it is, isn't it?
God. Do you like anything? Next you'll be whining about Batman having a sidekick on his show because it's such a radical change in status quo. They didn't. The two were totally unrelated. If your argument is so weak that you have to resort to falsehoods to create an emotional response for your point, then you should probably just do what your own sig file suggests.
They didnt kill JLU for this. God people. Get your facts straight before you start hating. This was in planning, in some stage or another, before JLU got its nonrenewal notice. Furthermore, many of the people who worked on this ALSO worked on JL and Teen Titans. Additionally (And not trying to insult the original poster), it's not anime so why's it in the anime board? Anyways, it's VERY faithful in concept to the original Legion series in its multiple incarnations. The first ep pulled almost exactly from the original storyline. They even used Interlac for crying out loud. No, it's not JLU, but then it's not supposed to be. It's made for a slightly younger age group then JL was. This is not a bad thing. So far, I'm loving it. Lots of nice little touches, and the art style looks a lot better in motion. (Although I wish it was closer to the Timm style) I love all the little nods toward the DCAU they've incorporated (Booster Gold and Skeets! The JLU tower), and they've weaved bits of Superman's history as well as classic Legion stuff. I do wish they had waited for more then 3 eps before going into repeats. They've already mentioned that Lightning Lord and the Legion of Substitute heroes are showing up. *cheer* Also, apparently the creators arent ruling out a link to the DCAU. Happy day if they do link it.
Yes you whining idiots, JLU was not axed for this show, JLU was cancelled and extended for a 5th season and ended. The LOSH series is a completely SEPARATE PROJECT. Ed
Umm, no. I like some things. And I don't think I'd bitch about Batman having Robin as a sidekick. Shin-Gouki's right also. The Justice League was brilliant. Legion of Superheroes doesn't live up to its predecessor, if Justice League were its predecessor.
I'd be very careful about insulting people here by calling them idiots..especially admins. Cut it out.
We're talking about the new show airing on Kids WB, not the comic book. And if you don't believe me, check it out for yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legion_of_Super_Heroes_%28TV_series%29 I guess I was right. It doesn't live up to Justice League. Apparently, this isn't even in continuity with the Superman/Batman/Batman Beyond/Justice League/Justice League Unlimited continuity.
i've only seen the first episode, while it does not live up to the greatness of the justice league, it is still pretty good. no where near that of where it should be, the animation is ok. and superman is ok, but the other characters, are "meh" so far, there is too many, to have any character devolpment at all, except with superman. and Brainiac 5, and saturn girl, along with that thunder dude, what ever his name is, seem to be the only characters that gets any devolpment at all. teen titans maybe better, but then again, so is static shock. that's my opinion.
Yeah, that's always been kind of iffy. Sometimes when these threads are started in GD, they get moved here, and when they're started here, people ask why it's not in GD. I try not to think about, as really, it's just splitting hairs.
I am talking about the show on the Kids WB, i started the thread because i've watched the first three eps, i've also read the comic books and familiar with the LOSH history which you clearly are not. What youre saying is that the idea of superboy joinging the legion in this show sucks when im saying they are doing a direct homage to the silver age OG Legion comic book history. So in effect you should be saying that the creators of Superboy sucks because they created a spinoff called the LOSH which sucks because it was spun off from Superboy. Correct me if im wrong. Oh yeah and WHY are ppl trying to connect this series with the Supeman/Batman/JL animated series continuity? All those series were part of the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm animated universe. This series is NOT created by those guys and therefore does not need to keep continuity with them. If thats the case why are you complaining about how the new WB 'The Batman' series is not in continuity with Batman the Animated series, or that the old school 'Superfriends' is not in continuity with the JL animated series? Hmmm? I'm waiting to hear your response. Ed
Sorry, im not going to treat admins like special ppl if they want to engage in regular topics of discussion with the rest of us lowly board members. If they dont want to reply and just kickban me, thats their perogative. Having said that, the ignorance ppl are displaying in this thread abounds. Ed
