Can't wait to get three of these little guys, that's if I actually can of course, haha. Hope some W3 preorders go up soon, I'd like to at least have one Gnaw guaranteed as part of a set of the three W3 Legends before worrying about snagging two others separately.
I have to confess...I'm a little underwhelmed by these guys. I feel like they need to be a lot bigger.
I was thinking about adding a few of these guys to my UT Sharky group. I'm guessing the price will be similar to Wheelie?? But after looking at this pic, he looks really small...hmm
Yup. I'm in. I need an army. At least three to add to my UT Sharkies. Gotta pick up a set of the Igear guys too.
Yea, these are fantastic. Loved the 3P ones, but I am going to have to get at least 3 Hasbro and 1 Takara ones of these. God help us if there is a sale when these hit the shelves.
A lot of folks are complaining about the scale. Me, I'm thinking about how glad I am that this troop builder I'm likely to want to buy multiples of is at a less expensive price point...
He\'s small but wider that other elgends, so that evens it out. I\'ve always wanted a Gnaw! So Keen of this little fella
Gnaw looks great. I can't wait to see what TakaraTomy does with it because that'll be the version I get.
Would like to see Takara's have some chrome applications on it, but this version looks at least good enough as generic mook fodder Sharkticon
On the other hand, isn't Hasbro shooting itself in the foot by not making these at a higher price point/deluxe scale? I'm dying to see if Hasbro will follow reason and make entire cases (nearly entire?) of this guy - knowing EVERYONE will want to troop build! No, instead, we'll see maybe 3 per case, and they'll all sell out INSTANTLY, leaving a few crappy Laserbeaks or some such nonsense. It completely boggles my mind that Hasbro still doesn't make troop-builder sets like they do with GI JOE toys... But I guess GI JOE is from Mattel, so that would make sense.
Honestly, I'd prefer nice silver paint. Chrome chips too easily, especially if it's on the main body of a figure like it would be for Gnaw.
I think the better question is: "Does Hasbro know Hasbro produces GI JOE?" Remember when Hasbro successfully sold Joe figures with comics? Then they had the bright idea of applying the same concept to another franchise? Yeah, I kind of wish they would remember that selling boy toys includes sales tactics that work ACROSS all their brands, not just GI JOE. But whatever. Touche!
I hope we see pics of these guys next to the two (three?) third party versions of sharkicons. It's nice to have a character I could army build without really having to try.
True. If he hits retail channels in larger stores, we have stores in Oregon called Fred Meyer that pretty regularly run 25% off specials and also run buy one get one half off.. which is the same discount in two... so it won't be too bad. I'll get at least 4
You seem to assume that a critical mass of people will not only want to troop build, but will do so at the Deluxe price point. I contend that the number of such people at that price point is much lower than those who will do so at the Legend price point. I don't think they're shooting themselves in the foot at all. Take this wholly-made up example: I'll probably buy at least three of these guys, if I can find him. At $10 each, that's $30. At the Deluxe price, I'm probably not buying more than one. So, just $16. Granted, anyone can posit whatever math they want to demonstrate what Hasbro "should" have done. We're never going to get anywhere with that argument. I know that. Still, speaking only for myself, I prefer that Hasbro's done it this way.
