I already own the original Beast Wars II Leo Convoy but only a couple of the newer versions. I missed out on the white Target-exclusive Cybertron Leo-Breaker re-paint but got the red one and the Legends sized one. This new Alpha Trion re-paint looks OK but, I'm still hoping for a Masterpiece version from Takara.

I already have the Leo Prime area covered, but I'm not against owning multiples of a character. Just need better pics.

Well, as much as this mold really didn't make a great Alpha Trion, it doesn't really make a great Leo Prime either. Certainly though this will have more details, so I'm in for this for now, and hope they find an appropriate use for the Alpha Trion head. I might change my mind though depending on what else is announced later on.

Honestly I probably would have rather they simply done a more detailed Alpha Trion version of this then yet another Prime, but that's TakaraTomy for you.

Oh, I don't know. Takara's releases are usually some years later than Hasbro's. Blitzwing wasn't that long ago and that's coming out soon, plus the Megatron version (just after the Unite Warriors version). Japan has only just gotten the CHUG/Adventure remolded Sky Shadow, and that was just announced for TItan Returns.

I wouldn't say, from all that, that AT isn't going to come out later.

I think this mold works better in Leo Prime colors.

Still not a fan of the mold itself but this is a massive improvement. :thumb

I admit I am kinda bummed. I was hoping we'd get a Takara Alpha Trion that was a bit more purple-heavy as opposed to the fairly red-heavy Hasbro version. This looks cool as Lio Convoy, I'm just not sure if I'm willing to get this version.

I don't think this is a surprise to anyone. I'm sure we'll get a Hasbro version, soon. Just as Astrotrain's mold was clearly engineered with that character in mind even though it was used for Sentinal Prime first, it seemed fairly obvious to me that Alpha Trion's was intended for Leo Convoy.

That would be true if the art we got last month hadn't already established it was meant to be Alpha Trion the entire time.
Leo here is just a bonus.

You're right, the Santalucia work. Which he claims was done long before it was decided AT would even be a figure in TR. I appreciate this fact; it gives the AT figure an added genuineness. Interesting... as soon as I saw it, I thought "Leo Convoy"

I really don't think this mold fits Lio Convoy at all. The proportions are all wrong and so are the modes. The original mold is still the best Lio Cnovoy by a landslide.

Slightly better resolution of the retailer solicit image.

Looks to be the Sentinel Prime Titan/Headmaster.

I think I will imagine this as Lio Convoy's ship, the Yukikaze being able to transform into a transtector. Lio Convoy from the cartoon would form the head but not the body. Depending on how the Titan Master figure looks, Lio Convoy would either form the head or be within an exo-suit that forms the head.

Well they haven't yet used Infinitus at retail, and Convobat is an exclusive.
