Based on LG41 being named Leo Prime, I assumed that Takara was going to honor the toy bio backstory from the Prime Leo Prime toy, and sure enough they did.

I also like how they acknowledged that his sword is L.P., and how his Headmaster form looks like his original body. Sakamoto knows his stuff.

So Leo Prime is the first character (who wasn't already a Headmaster) to both not get his Headmaster form from Scorponok's black balls, and that his transtector is actually the Legends Universe Lio Convoy! So I guess that means his transtector is alive...

 

Oh, so the character is the new form of Leo Prime, a different character from BWII Lio Convoy.

... Eh, I'm still calling him Lio Convoy.

Also, is that Adventure Windblade that is being used as a weapon?

 

As I understand it, they are the same character. "Leo Prime" is an in-universe name change analogous to "Rodimus Prime." In the comic, he interacts with the Legends universe version of Lio Convoy, still going by that name.

Wow! those pics look great! The more I see this version, the more I'm starting to like it. As Leo Prime, he really works well. It also helps that the paint and details really pop in gold and red. Do want, but only at the end of March.

 

It's a great toy. I like both him and Alpha Trion, they look quite cool together.

 

The only niggle I'm worried about is the possibility of GPS on those gold parts. :/

 

Fairly certain GPS is a thing of the past. And this certainly doesn't look like the type of swirly gold plastic that it was often seen in. I may be wrong about that though.

 

Wow, so he's Arms Micron Leo Prime, who is himself the dimension-hopping BWII Lio Convoy, put into the Legends universe after having his powers stolen by the G1 villain Katsu Don and is now combining with an upgraded version of the Legends universe Lio Convoy US-G1-Headmaster-style in order to create his robot mode.

That is possibly the most complicated Legends backstory yet?

 

I dunno.. looks like swirly gold plastic at first glance. That's a bummer. But to be 100% sure i have to get him in person first... Sincerely hope that is not the case.

 

To me it looks like all the gold parts are paint. At least looking at Alpha Trion

 

I was looking at the claws in the pictures posted and noticed that it wasn't plastic painted with gold. It had a shinny gold plastic quality to it. Hmm.. could anybody who has gotten LG41 Leo Prime please verify this? Thanks and appreciated!

All the gold is paint on white plastic, even the feet.

 

Yeah I have mine, and all the gold is painted on either white or red plastic.

It's a really nice color too.
