Heavy/Scratch: Legends Brawn

    Hi.

    This is just a quick post to show a project that I will be working on.
    Since HasTak still hasn't confirmed a new Legends Brawn figure, I am going to try and make one using Legends Swerve as the base figure.
    To make it work, I believe I need to make 4 main mods:
    * New head
    * New front body panel
    * New backpack/roof
    * repaint

    I felt the head would be the trickiest part. So, I came up with a design and 3d printed it at the weekend.
    I'm actually really happy with the result. I wasn't sure FDM printing would manage to produce a head with enough detailing at 100 micron but it seems to have worked.

    Using this as a test case, I can now also move further ahead with my FOC seeker conehead upgrade kit because one of the biggest hurdles I had with that project was creating a helmet for the existing head. However, now, I think I should be able to replace the stock head entirely with a new printed version.

    Legends Brawn won't be along for a little while yet because I want to finish up the FOC conehead kit and I'm also working on a WFC Soundwave upgrade kit.

    Anyway, here is a pic of Brawns new head.

    Nice job! The gears from the swerve mold has a more brawn-ish head sculpt already but I really dig yours too.

    Thanks. I have the gears mold and actually changed the head on that figure because it looked too much like brawn to start with. So, i totally get what youre saying and so, oddly, I have the brawn esque head available. But, it's a bit small. I wanted something bigger to work with. I really wasn't sure how well this would turn out but it's way better than I thought it would be. This picture is very much a close up and the layering effect of the print you can see in the picture is not really visible under normal conditions. When I'm ready to move on this, I'll get more pics up showing the scale of the head on the swerve body. I think it looks more in line with the cartoon scale than the gears head.
    After doing this print, I designed and printed a conehead for my FOC upgrade kit and that print came out really well too. So, I'm going to try and get the conehead kit done first and finally finish off my seeker lineup before getting stuck into brawn.
