The show models were literally just the toy cad with minor alterations. Not to say that using the cad models would've been viable, just that the cad exists

Nothing in that image suggests CAD for the toys. It's all the show model, which was made by looking at the resin prototypes with eyeballs and building it in CGI.

    Shouldn't need an upgrade kit.

We desperately need someone to make that more proportional and articulated show model into a figure.

Absolutely but I’d rather have the option to make it like it should be than none at all. Least this guys not as bad as Bludgeon so that’s good I guess.

Is there any proof that Hasbro/Takara weren’t using CAD by the mid 2000s?

Watch now Fans Hobbys going to do a Vector Prime now

I meant in terms of accuracy to his source material of IDW2.

    Marvel or idw though?

Kinda combination of both. Hasbro were always going to reuse the tarn mold

IDW2, the design they were going for with Legacy Bludgeon is meant to be IDW2 and it’s very off. So I’m saying despite Vectors problems of being a retool he’s more accurate without any upgrade kits than Bludgeon was or Chromia or Towline. The Amazon versions probably going to look nice in Marvel colors.

Vector Prime had a good toy before Legacy, Jhiaxus didn't. The latter deserved it more, at least that's the way I look at it.

I had no idea who Jhiaxus was or Vector Prime, just knew them both by name.

Jhiaxus looks way cooler than Vector. My main praise of Jhiaxus as a toy is that he oozes personality and feels badass in whatever pose he’s in, every pose looks so dynamic and natural because he a perfect robot. He is cool.

I like this vector prime, but do not see much cool in this. I’d put money on this clogging shelves due to the drab colour scheme

Tbh as someone who didn’t know who the character was, I only bought jhiaxus because of his goofy and bright color scheme. Otherwise he’s kinda just a standard robot. I feel like this mold has a lot less appeal without that bright color scheme pull and doesn’t have enough vector prime in it to be a standout.

it’s almost impossible that’ll happen because jhiaxus, skullgrin, crankcase and point blank will forever be cemented into the shelves of my local stores, ensuring they won’t even order vector primes wave :p

As much as I love Jhiaxus, he is shelfwarming even here, in a country completely starved of Transformers toys.

I think he would have been better suited for an exclusive, much like Straxus will happen.

All of the Jhiaxus sold out at my local stores. Just because something happens in one place doesn't make it true everywhere.
