I'd advise nabbing a minimum of 2 x packs, as there are 3 per pack of the right size, so that you have 3 x pairs of them to work with (also having more than one pair opens up the possibility of also covering his robot mode inside elbow pin cap, if that takes your fancy).

As of right now this is my favorite figure out of Legacy United. Maybe my favorite voyager within the Legacy trilogy.

It’s a fun transformation and both modes look great with some minor nit picky issues.

Like the Robot head’s ball joint stem is a bit to long. Giving a weird floaty look. The other issue is the beast mode’s lower jaw. Why did the mold it in a way where the left side has a big square hole making it look incomplete. My finial small issue is I wish the wings were fully painted on the back side. The beast mode wings look a little incomplete.

Yeah, only the wingtips getting the classic deco very clearly demarcates where they hit the budget ceiling!

The just wingtips of of the outer wings too. The inner side ones are completely bare.

I was counting those whole outer sections as the "wing tips", as opposed to the unpainted "bodies" of the full wings.

I think loose wing joints are pretty common.

My copy's wings are floppy in "cape" form in robot mode but pretty solidly stable at full flight extension.

Newest addition to the family and he's a welcome addition!

With his season 2 brethren (Just got the Takara VS Dinobot last week)

His dearly departed sister whom he loved dearly.

The double date that never happened. (Tigatron would have been a great character for S Bolt to relate to and come to for lady advice)

    Overall?.........

I like him a lot! If I had to rank him among the Modern Beast Wars Voyagers Id put him below Inferno but above Tigatron.

Weirdly Tigatron's an apt starting point because Silverbolts alt mode has similar things going on. Lets start with his face! It just sorta feels like this sculpt deserves better paint than the budget allows. The way his back legs, are, is kind of cute? But they almost feel vestigial. His tail works great in robot mode but it almost looks like its not covering his butt all the way? Since were here, lets talk about Wings. It feels like they nailed the tension on Airazor's, slipped a little with Terrorsaur, and now we have Silverbolt with even slightly looser wings. Mine arent that bad, but I sometimes cant get the right wing to come to a guaranteed full stop? Maybe a dot of floor polish.

I love the transformation. That exact right swoosh of Beast Wars body flipping head swapping leg rotating fun. Its intuitive, clever, and satisfying in a tactile way to perform. His robot mode looks really good! His legs are weirdly ratcheted in a way that I appreciate. Having these big crazy bird legs have all these notches and clicks, it lends a physical force of friction to the very dynamic poses you can pull off with them. Otherwise I think he just hits his marks. Voyager was the right move, he looks correct next to Blackarachnia and he cuts an impressive presence swords and wings akimbo. His head looks great too, capturing the masked puppy look to great effect.

I had a lot of time with the original Silverbolt as a kid, I have a lot of the way that toy feels mapped out in my brain. Legacy United Silverbolt is an awesome update to one of my favorite Beast Wars characters.

It’s so weird to have a version of Beast Wars Silverbolt without the wings sticking above the shoulders. This is what I’ve been wanting since I was a kid.

It's a shame this BW Silverbolt lacks one very significant trait. The one feature that would make it perfect:

Built-in spring-loaded missile launchers on the wings!

I'd be sorely tempted by a 3P upgrade that provided swappable outer wingtip sections with a 90° bend to them for over-the-shoulder missile firing mode - with or without springloaded action!

That’d make the wings at least 3 times as thick. It would look extremely odd, and be too heavy for the friction joints to hold. Maximum floppiness.

I’m absolutely glad it doesn’t have that feature. As a kid, it was annoying for it to accidentally fire off in the room when playing with the original. As an adult outdoor photography, the last thing I want is a sudden gust of wind knocking it over and causing the missiles to get lost in my bamboo forest.

I don’t have to worry about any of that with this version which makes so thankful.

From what I can tell, the wing hinge joints have 'stops' where the friction is strong and the joints are stiff in certain positions (like further out to the sides) and relatively loose to floppy in others. (like pointing straight out/perpendicular from the back)

Fun, intuitive transformation. Looks good in both modes. Can do the cartoon poses. Love it!
