I love how the "Behind the Scenes" posts have just become a photoshoot with zero BTS whatsoever beyond intermittently namedropping another designer. Good to see Wildrider (and Motormaster I guess) getting mentioned, he's my favorite of the G2 Stunticon decos. ...he's not getting his roof tampo either, is he?

Also god I hate these. Mark is a cool guy, love his work, I know he's enthusiastic about his job and the new toyline, but his posts are just terrible imho. What's with randomly dropping "Safety Dance?" Bro is not okay.

 

Hopefully Wildrider comes out soon, I want him as a base to make a cheap Unit 3!

They used to be great, but he actually revealed too much BTS info, and now Corporate handcuffs him into this song and dance.

 

I don't know if it's the specific shades of color used or what, but he's oddly sterile for such as "loud" deco. I think the purple being a lot less pink is a big factor.

I think a lot of the actual insights they could provide are things Hasbro would not like them to talk about (budget limits, etc - look back at Pointblank...). And to be fair, there's not a ton you can say about an obvious recolor that's been done like 3 times over by now.

 

What else is he gonna say? Can you imagine if he signed off this official PR fluff piece with “Anyway, sorry to run long on this one, just enjoying the time before I have to show you the tire fire that is AOTP. Really embarrassed by what’s coming.”

Oh absolutely, I don't expect a full look at the mold layouts or specific design notes, much less for repaints, but I'd really like to see stuff like they used to do. Initial sketches, concept art, maybe a prototype, some talk about figuring out the engineering, etc.

Unfortunately it's a major loss, as judging by the Pointblank BTS, we could've seen a lot more of what they dropped the axe on and what excuses they had

That head shot photo is gorgeous. Really fun colors on this.

He posted a bts which showed corporate neutering Point Blank due to "budget concerns" and they have been crap since.

 

Well, this is G2 Breakdown all right but from all of the G2 Stunticons, he probably has the more boring deco.

Eh, I think his posts for Legacy Cybertron Hot Shot, and Legacy Cannonball, off the top of my head, were still very informative, with the planning blueprint, CAD revisions, and the, "Initially, it was meant to be a retool of Reactivate Soundwave," revelation, for the latter. Hell, I remember him even doing a whole transformation video, for Legacy Deluxe Class Optimus Prime. It's just a matter of what can be said, for each release, I think; and, since we're in the PR Wave, it'll probably remain, "insubstantial," for a bit.

(Definitely understand if it's not your speed, but that's just his vibe - the, "He's not okay," is a bit unwarranted, IMO.)

 

Nah, "bro is not okay" was mostly poking fun at the seemingly random lyrics from Safety Dance. Wouldn't surprise me if he's a bit burnt out though, who knows how long/hard these guys work to give us our fix of plastic crack.

I mostly remember the Cannonball BTS becauae of the weak "excuse" for screwing up changing his ooga booga skeltons. Admittedly, I did miss the Hot Shot BTS, mostly because the figure disappointed me. The Deluxe Prime vid I also missed, but that doesn't really sound like a BTS, imo, more a "here's how this transforms compared to the original," but I can see that getting shoehorned into their definition of "behind the scenes." Overall though, things definitely seem less informative and more photoshoot. Mostly because of the Pointblank incident.

 

Looks rad. I will gladly buy a Nonnef split spoiler and Toyhax sticker set to spruce him up. Easily my favorite deco of the limbs. Motormaster takes the crown though. Hope we see the remaining two sooner than later.
