I'd agree with that. The design ethos during Hasui's hybrid MP era is markedly different from the hyper faithful Sunbow figures that followed it (which is also why the Skids mold and all its offshoots was such a breath of fresh air to me).

EDIT: To this day, my favorite MP carbots are the Datsun bunch; that mold struck the perfect balance between honoring both the Diaclone toy origins and the TF characters said molds were turned into

Neat! They kept the transformation toy accurate and solved the fists in a pretty clever way.

 

Yepp, his forearms kinda pull a Kindom Cyclonus! Looks like such a fun little figure.

 

Nice transformation! You can technically have a gerwalk mode if you stopped with the legs.

 

We have Missing Link Optimus at home, and looks pretty good.

 

Just wish they could have included wrist swivels

 

Okay, aside from some small tweaks, like hiding the front wheels and having side torso, this is exactly how SS86 Prime should transform

 

Other way around, Toy Gun has the drum mag while the Animation Gun has the straight mag.

 

Sooo does the animation reference the thinner gun?

 

Too bad about the Autobot symbol placement. I understand why they did it, but it still doesn’t look great sitting too low on his shoulder.

 

So why not beat leakers to the punch more often on reviews and just put out Transformation videos like this with every BTS/Deep dive Instagram post

 

But then Quake wouldn’t have had the budget for new internal hinges!!!

 

They'd have every opportunity to be the first source to break the news if they just shared CAD models and early concept art. There's no reason why they can't give updates on every wave's production progress like they do for HasLabs. Even if something changes during production, they can just tell us about it and move on.

Cool, I wanted it at first and now i want it even more. the transformation looks like it could be... fun. I\'m so used to recent primes being pains to transform.
