As this is a redeco, this is not a full review. Will go over differences and show various pictures. Legacy Armada Galvatron is the latest redeco in a line heavy with redecos. This is supposed to represent Megatron's upgraded form and persona as initially seen in the "Puppet" episode.

The main difference is obviously the colors. Instead of a green and purple color scheme, Galvatron has a beige, lighter purple and maroon color scheme, along with gold highlights. The only newly molded part is the face sculpt. Galvatron uses an open mouth design.

If one doesn't like the Armada Megatron mold, this one is not going to win over new fans. We like the new color scheme.

Initially, I thought the joints were looser than the original, but as it turns out, our figure had multiple literally loose screws. Noticed this on other figures recently too. Tightening them (never over-tighten) may help. For ours, the shoulders were loose out the box and tilting to the sides. After tightening the screws (actually had to do 3-4 full rotations), then they were nicely snug and even better than the Megatron version. Also tightened the elbow screws. The ratched legs won't benefit as much.

Used a Philips #0 with the pointy tip filed off to tighten the screws without stripping the screw heads.

Another difference noted is that the antlers are glued into place.

Overall: If one wants another version of the Armada Megatron mold, then this would be recommended. If one didn't like the original version, then, this one won't win any new fans.

Any flaws of the original are carried over, except for the antlers being glued into place. Our copy had multiple loose screws; after properly tightening them, the shoulders and elbows joints felt great.

Gotta say I absolutely love this deco, much more than Megatron's. But I already have Megatron, and I'm not sure I can justify owning the mold twice.

Nice update to the original. Shoulders are a bit floppy on my copy, they don't lock in as such and like the original is a bit of work to twist around the turret to the front but that could be me.

Lovely colors, nice face sculpt and his attennas are glued in place. If you're an armada fan get this.

Our shoulders had very loose screws. Nice and snug after tightening.

Yeah might have to do that, otherwise a good figure. I like him.

Loving this redeco! Solid figure all around, nice tight joints, great paint and everything functions perfectly. No complaints!

:lol  I mean, there's definitely a slight "fart-smelling" design element, but not too bad IMO.

Just got this yesterday and WOW these colors pop so well on this mold. I think the original legacy Armada Megatron was great but a little lackluster because some of the paint apps were lacking.

Not the case with this guy. He has more paint in some areas and the color choices here are phenomenal. Obviously largely due to the source material, but I had both the original Megatron and Galvatron at different points in time when I was a kid and the difference didn’t feel as drastic as it does here.

Aside from half his launcher remaining unpainted like the Megatron release, absolutely no complaints. Some of the joints are even tighter than the Megatron release (in a good way). I don’t go out of my way much anymore to post in feedback threads but I wanted to swing by here to share how truly happy I am with this release.

Thanks. Wondered for a while how that POTP sword looked proportion wise and it looks great there, if only they'd just retooled that one or even just released it in blue.

Well, this is an odd one.

I'm big into tech specs and profiles from the original back of the boxes, so for me, I got this figure to use as my G1 Megatron. (Armada Megatron has been "demoted" to Megaplex) This also gives him a special appearance, as while there are other tanks in Transformers, none are bone/white tanks, and the black/purple color scheme in robot mode is very Decepticon leader to me and different while being visually appealing IMHO. To that end I'm very, very happy with him.

In my eagerness to get him, I pre-ordered through BBTS and Amazon, BBTS Shipped first and Amazon arrived first, so I have 2. Normally I would never do this, nor allow getting two, but I figured for a central figure in my collection, sometimes I get 2, to keep one as a safety net. Combined with the odd timing, I'm keeping them both. However, they couldn't be more different. The Amazon one has several loose joints while the BBTS one is super tight.

I was a little apprehensive about his new open mouth face and hearing that the horns are glued on. In person, the softer pieces, the horns and the barrel, are far, far better than Megatrons, they're straight for starters. In person, the open mouth doesn't look bad at all. Both of them have good horns and barrels.

So this leaves me in an odd position, if you get a tight one, I cannot recommend the figure enough, it's sharp looking, and it really pops. If you get a looser one, I'd recommend trying to do an exchange unless it's a shelf-queen who's never going to do anything but stand on a shelf in robot mode. I don't have Tidal Wave, likely Christmas I will, so I can't speak as to how good it looks combined with the Tidal Wave parts.

Try looking for loose screws. Tightened ours and the figure ended up great. Shoulders went from floppy to tight.

Did you try tightening the screws on the loose copy? A couple of folks here said theirs arrived with very loose screws, and after tightening them the figure was much better. May be something to try at least!

I literally just got mine out of the box, and it felt a bit loose for my liking. I tightened what screws I could, and it made a difference. I just wish the waist extension would stay a bit more solid feeling like Megatron. I just might take it apart and see what I can do. As for the hips, they are a little loose, but not to the point it ragdolls at least.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but I'm not just talking about the shoulders. Granted, tightening the elbow screw did help on the one elbow, there's a plethora of loose issues on the one Galvatron; the waist in particular is both loose to swivel, and loose to extend. The right robot mode's actual shoulder, which is a pin, is very loose. Same with the thigh swivels are much looser along with the hip forward/back swivel. And the wrist swivels.

They really are just night and day in terms of QC.

I literally took every single screw out of the figure, thickened up what places I could, and the arms are good for the most part now after using either floor polish, or a tiny scrap of tape or paper in the joint. Hell, I even added a little tape in the spine area, which kind of helped tighten up the extension of Galvatron in his "combined" mode. I'm almost tempted to see if a figure from BBTS has better quality than the one I got off of Amazon. I heard copies from BBTS are phenomenally better.
