Comics can do what you can't just do in a plastic transforming toy. Also like I said earlier generations esthetics matter. And they at HasTak seem to want to keep things relatively uniform.

exactly. Thats why I posted RID15 design a bit earlier, its proof that the Prime aesthetic can be translated into something more G1 like. Now you could argue that he would need to be Leader to keep all that bulk, but they could have done something to better represent Prime at Voyager.

Honestly, I don't think many fans would have taken it as badly if they did just a more realistic take on the original characters like the Kingdom Beasts or even the older HFTD Lockdown or Lugnut. This is just another character's body and altmode with Bulkhead's, well, head on it.

I'm just gonna let this be my last piece on the issue. Bulkhead, as a figure, doesn't bug me for what he is - a lazy blocky pretool relying on legacy namesake for promotion - but what he could represent for Legacy. We've seen the leaks of the included other Prime characters Arcee, Knockout, and Soundwave and Armada Starscream. I had presumed that with Beast Wars inclusion in Kingdom and these new additions in Legacy that Hasbro had finally decided to put the plural but in Generations - as in more than just Generation One. With Bulkhead that comes into question. Sure, we've glimpsed at Cybertron Metroplex but which one is the outlier and who represents Legacy's direction?

Is it Metroplex, as in we will receive faithful interpretations of non-G1 characters? Or is it Bulkhead, as in we will receive these non-G1 characters only after they've been retconned into the original Sunbow cartoon stylings?

Are we going to get an Armada Starscream faithful to the source or will it just be Redwing's Earthrise form but called Armada Starscream because that will sell more units.

If its the latter then I think I can say for sure that I'm no longer interested in whatever Hasbro's offering.

They try to do something to make him fit in better while retaining the truck mode. That's all there is.

 

Fans will always find something when the complaint is primarily about accuracy.

Because the closer you get to the original the more the differences stand out and the angrier people get.

I like that with this new Bulkhead you'll be able to have the case of Animated in G1 form, ER Prime, ER Prowl, ER Ratchet, Netflix/Worlds Collide Bumblebee and Legacy Bulkhead.
