Ok, now we can say the TF fandom is as bad as the Star Wars fandom :/

 

who's mark? why was he being attacked over bulkhead? what were the attacks in question? what does this have to do with the transformers fandom at large? why should i, or one of the millions on this board just here for transformers, care or be blamed that some rando took down a social media page over a toy?

 

TBH, aside from the aesthetics, the primary reason I dislike Prime is it brought in many of those types of fans. We'd always had some, but yeah, it increased the number by no small margin. Sucks, since the show was decent.

You act like as though Transformer Prime fans are some of the worse and toxic fans there is.
When really it's the same as it's always been, it brought in a large number of fans and some may act like that, but that's how the fandom's always been. It be idiotic to think it was only "some" before and it hasn't always been like this.

I have been interacting with other fans for 20 years. Every group has their jerks, but most are cool. Fans who came in due to Prime are worse than others, imo, because it is the same type of crowd that infested Voltron.

 

It wasn't really that big of a stretch. Laser Optimus turns into that exact same kind of tanker truck.

 

Transformers fans have been attacking people in charge of stuff about Transformers for years.

Remember how fans acted back in 2007 when Prime had flames?


To assume every single fan who came in from Prime are just like that and the fandom hasn't always been like that is stupid and naïve.

I still wish we had gotten that deco of Prime. The Scott Farkus eyes, to me, are much more appealing.

 

Bay received death threats from people because Optimus had flames on his alt-mode.
Fans who came in from Prime aren't worse than any other G1 BW RID UT or Animated fan, there's just more than there was before.

 

what stream? there's no link to a stream on the front page or the news section of the forum, just a recap of a panel i guess i missed because by the time i got on tfw there was this thread already being swallowed by ongoing hard-to-follow discussions and uuhhh the pulsecon 2021 thread i guess, that has half the replies as this thread...

i just don't get the situation. i see people blaming transformers fans/prime fans because "Mark" deactivated his instagram. so a grown man that works for a large toy designer designed a toy, got paid for it, then people din't like the toy so he had a social media meltdown???

how do people like this function in the real world? i've been yelled at at my job 3 times in the past month and i work at a bakery for what i'm sure is far less money than whatever "Mark" makes designing expensive molds for hasbro but i'm still marching.

hell i'm a transformers fan and i'm not sure why we're being blamed. or compared to star wars fans. are star wars fans notorious assholes?

maybe large groups of people leads to a larger percentage of assholes, and whenever it's something niche, of course people are gonna be extra passionate about it. and that leads to assholes. but i don't think 90% of this forum of extremely devoted fans is worth calling a shithead just because they like the same toys as a shithead. i really tire of the "you guys are such NECKBEARDED NERDS who RUIN EVERYTHING" rhetoric i see pasted on tfw like some people (signed up for a transformers forum just to let us know transformers fans suck.

As a life long Voltron fan, I really don't think Voltron has ever had an active enough fandom to actually be "infested".

But anyway, I actually find Prime fans to not be so bad and often less obnoxious than most, they're just going through their ten year old growing pains right now.

 

The stream was on Pulse's website, which was known about for months and months. And deactivating his Instagram isn't having a meltdown, the people spamming and attacking him on social media are the ones have a meltdown. Better to just simply sidestep that and turn off your account until the upset manchildren calm down.

 

Shame about no Blaster. Definitely getting Laser Prime, and maybe Drag Strip (looks neat, but I don't like Menasor and it would feel weird to get only one of the components) and Prime Arcee.

 

YEah, I realized after I posted it that was Laser Optimus. I didn't honestly even know that was a G2 specific Optimus until he got announced for Legacy, and I own the TR figure, lol (bought it this year though off ebay when I was going through a phase of buying different versions of Prime). When I was watching the reveal today, I was like 'why does this look so much like a figure I already have?" But it's all slowly coming together for me.
