For sure, Hasbro had an excellent handle on how to do modernized G1 bots back in that era. Unfortunately, they came in an era when the fandom was still starved of even decently accurate true-to-G1 figures and they were slowly culled out... :(

Your argument like communism only looks good on paper.

You say no one should have to wait... Yet when TFP released the chug line was halted to allow these figures to shine and not have to share the spotlight, just like when the other cartoons released or another movie was hitting theaters. G1 is 37, Prime is barely a decade old. Let's give it a little more time to age so the updated figures can be appreciated better. My 12 year old still has prime figures mixed in with the rest his collection and he isn't chomping at the bit for another prime bulkhead. Maybe a new Arcee, but she was transformered more than bee, and took alot of wear and tear.

And even before we get to Prime, we've got Beast Machines. We've got RID. We've got Armada, we've got Energon, we've got Cybertron. And, honestly, that last line got some great little nods in Hot Shot and Optimus, but, there's still more that probably need more of an upgrade.

Prime'll get more stuff eventually, but, Transformers is a big thing and there's a lot of figures to get through. Frankly anything for Bulkhead nowerdays, compared to the fat nothing we've had for Botanica, is at least something.

Erm... so, I did a quick comparison to try and gauge how big Bulkhead is (by lining up the 5mm ports on him, Cyclonus and Hoist, since I have those two figures, and know how big they are), and erm... would anyone like to check my work, and make sure I'm not tripping balls?

Because if I'm not tripping balls, holy crap I just worked out why Bulkhead's engineering looks more simplified...

I was eyeballing it, and I've only just woken up but if I've got the sizes right, then oh lawd, he comin'...

I agree, the first transformers Generations figures to come out was in 2010. That is 26 years after G1 Optimus Prime was put on a shelf. These kids can't wait and complain about the first Bulkhead figure that is made in homage of the original figure... Let them take a look at Generations Optimus prime and then come back to complain. The entitlement is just insane.

Ah, when I said "he comin'", I didn't mean in terms of retools, I meant as in Bulkhead, he BIG. I wasn't clear, my bad!

Y'know... it doesn't half remind me of the 2014 Upscaled Voyager BH Prime...

    EDIT TO ADD:
Hmmmmmmm, I can't help but wonder if that's no accident. If he is getting retooled as Prime, and we're getting Dragon Megs in the next toyline trilogy... might Dragon Megs be a stand-in for TFP Predaking, so the two of them can duke it out as massive big figures?

Back when the figures were much more physically solid, not to mention bigger.

I may be in the minority here, but I actually like the new Bulkhead! I already own the Takara First Edition Bulkhead, which is a pretty good fit with CHUG if I really want Bulkhead in my G1 collection, so that might be why I don't mind the radically changed look so often. And I can also think of some good customs I want to make out of him, because he has the exact type of alt mode and robot mode proportions for a certain idea of mine. I admit he doesn't really look like Bulkhead, but I can feel that this mold definitely has potential.

(P.S. Anyone wishing for a new Leader/Commander Lugnut in Legacy or is it just me?)

If he's as big as I think he is, he's straight to buy-on-sight status.

I like 'em big, for I am a size queen, apparently... :p

I refer you back to my previous statement on being a size queen. :p

    TL;DR: YES GIMME.

Ah! Lol, I gotcha. I just put Cyclonus and Hoist next to each other and while I don't think he'll have that height, I do think he'll have that mass. To me, Bulkhead looks like he shares engineering from K/S Ultra Magnus and K-UM is a chonk of a figure even w/out the armor.

I wouldn't mind if that's the case. I just repurchased my Leader class TFP Predaking so I hope that there's no overlap there.

We need a new Lugnut for sure, and a bog boi is an absolute must. It would be, dare I say, GLORIOUS.

Bring that on! I keep just missing the train online for RTS Lugnut (outbid or late to announcements of people selling him).

hmm yeah, that seems like a very normal and balanced thing to say in a conversation about children's toys
Wow.... if you're right, I'm really looking forward to him now.

No one should have to "wait their turn" while another group gets everything. If they're going to bring back these characters, why would it be that those who want an update that's easier to obtain should have to "wait their turn" so the G1 purists can get Bulkhead warped to that aesthetic? Your kid got one? Hey, good for him. A lot of fans of the show now didn't get that chance, and when it's presented now, it's not even remotely close to the character. It's a massive disappointment. Especially with labeling him Prime Universe Bulkhead. G1 is 37, but it's been basically the main representation on the shelves for nearly a decade itself now. It's weird to say "wait" when Hasbro's doing these characters again now but in such a way that doesn't generally sit well with the people who'd have been wanting a second chance at the design or a good update. This even goes into Beast Wars with how it still had to deal with a massive influx of G1, and the figures didn't even get designed to work with the Fossilizers that seemed conceptualized with the BW aesthetic in mind.

I see multiple examples so I didn't feel the need to point specifics. Not just in this thread either. It's aggravating as all hell, especially since this attitude of "ONLY G1" is genuinely starting to kill any enthusiasm I can hold for collecting even passively.
