I don't like him, but hey good if you like it, I hope he'll be more available for you all to quickly purchase him.
I mean, I get not liking it, but it succeeds masterfully knowing the goal is to G1-ify a very stylized design. This kicks the nipples off of Bulkhead, Arcee, and Knockout. I liked Bulkhead and Knockout as well. It is immediately recognizable as TFA Prowl, but also has a bit of "Prowl". This was NEVER going to replace TFA Prowl. It wasn't intended that way, and frankly, I don't think it can be done save by maybe a 3rd Party. I cannot wait to hold this.
Quattro Bajeena likes this comment. Joking aside I know you're talking about Team Chaar from TFA. Yes I would like to see it too in Legacy, please Hasbro do it!!
That first image showing the Animated and new designs, shows just why this ain\'t working for me and so many others. Nice effort, but you should have stuck closer to the original design.
I mean they pretty much did tbh, just proportional changes and certain other things. But as is it looks like the Animated Prowl.
I think Commander Lugnut would be sick. Leader Lugnut would probably end up being a little too short and still wouldn't quite get his mass right.
I didn’t notice this for some reason but I thought they kinda got rid of his chin and the long face’s but they didn’t they kept it and still made it work. He could benefit from a update yeah.
I know, that’s why I’m saying ‘if it was released now’ the generations Lugnut is great, but it isn’t what the legacy line is
I think the biggest fault with these Legacy "re-imagined" designs is that they led with the "Prime" Arcee. An argument can and has been made for Bulkhead, but that Arcee is just too far removed from the source material. If Legacy Arcee didn't exist, and Bulkhead wasn't pitched as "Prime" Bulkhead, then I think people would have had a less negative reception to these re-imaginings.
Only vaguely. The design of Leg-cee is so generic looking that they could be virtually anybody...Hence why the repaints of that mold arguably work so much better as their own thing. The only defining characteristics that connect Leg-Cee to the Prime design is alt-mode and color. Again, Bulk gets a pass with a lot of people, because if you just think of him as a new variation of Bulkhead and not a re-imagining, he works well enough.
Almost every detail on Legacy Arcee has its origins somewhere in the Prime design. The shape of the chest/torso/pelvis is there, the back spikes are there, the arm blades are there, the pink on the wrists and shins is there. and the alt mode is very close. It's not 1:1 but there can be absolutely no mistaking which design the Legacy figure is meant to represent. Meanwhile, Legacy Bulkhead doesn't even turn into the same kind of vehicle. Bulkhead is the better figure, he's great, but he's not accurate to the Prime cartoon at all.
Again, only vaguely. Not really. The torso is so squared off that it's only really the coloring that makes it resemble anything close to the Prime design. They really aren't. There's alt-mode kibble there in the same place the more "spiky" wings would be. But they do not resemble that design. Hell, Prowl here is far closer in that regard of "bike-wing" kibble design. They're completely different. Arm blades are also not unique to Prime Arcee. Yes. I did say that the colors were one of the two things that connect the designs. And that was the other one. And I say again, only vaguely. The design is only just close enough that one can tell that that's suppose to be Prime Arcee, enough for that, ironically, to be the entire problem. It just doesn't work. Which is that figures biggest fault. Again, if one just takes it as a "G1 Bulkhead" full stop, and not a re-imagining of the Prime version, then It's mostly fine. Though personally, I would have liked it if he was a tad more physically stout.
I don't really know what to tell you. Legacy Arcee is "objectively" closer to her original animation model than Legacy Skyquake is, and Bulkhead is the farthest of the three. . Almost all the details are there, just slightly reinvented to filter her into another aesthetic. She's a lot like Animated Prowl in that sense, (though admittedly a bit less accurate than he is). I really like all these reinterpretations we've been getting in Legacy. I hope they keep going.
