Id love to see Leader Class Skyquake remolded / repainted into King Atlas! I wonder if there's another headscuplt in the tooling / mold of the figure already in anticipation of such a thing
I now have a strong feeling that we will see Euro G1 Skyquake from this figure down the line since it was was one of the inspirations for this figure.
It seems unlikely to show up on the final product given it's also missing in the stock photos. Stranger things have happened, though. Here's a bit of wishful thinking: maybe they cut the copper because they're planning on doing a proper G1-color Skyquake in future?
I hope so too. While it looks nice on the concept art, I’d rather this version stay true to the Prime design and then go all out with the copper on the G1 version
I'll probably get some detractors for this, but I am so loving the new size class paradigm. Thanks to the new philosophy I am getting a new version of Skyquake (and at least one recolor) that's a fully realized jet with the gatling gun, a sword, an opening cockpit, landing gear and he even has an ab-crunch. I much prefer that to just randomly getting a giant version of some character who is not a giant in any of his comic or cartoon appearances. It was really cool to see how genuinely excited Mark was during the Fanstream, too. The secret combination that Hasbro didn't want you to know about. LoL. Those are two of the best products from that era.
I'm so glad they changed from that initial design. The final one feels so much more original than the "fat seeker" look of that first design. Still gonna hold out for a G1 repaint though. Honestly, same. I much prefer having more play features and having all my characters be in relative scale rather than some just towering over the rest.
I never thought I would say this. I am so glad that this community would not collectively stop bitching and moaning over Arcee and Bulkhead.
The one time out of millions when bitching and moaning about something pointless as a toy did some good. Crazy
my only gripe is that his wings can't have the tips facing downwards like the concept/lineart and the show model did, but thats an incredibly minor gripe, cause everything else is amazing
I mean, as long as you weren't actively harassing the designers over this stuff then there's nothing wrong with bitching and moaning. Even if I think it was mostly unnecessary nostalgia-based whining. I am curious to see if the folks who 'bitched and moaned' will be consistent with this precedent going forward or not.
Anybody have any idea what stand he's using? It's the standard TF stand mold that came with MP Tracks in black and was sold on TT mall in clear, but I don't remember ever seeing it in white.
That’s wild. Here I was thinking that if you weren’t just outwardly praising figures, you had to keep your mouth shut because Hasbro doesn’t care! I guess I’ve been led astray.
Probably one of the most interesting BTS in a minute. Appreciate Mark taking the feedback to heart and shooting his own shot at a design for Prime Skyquake. To be honest, the original design isn’t even that bad (based solely on Marcelo’s great art) but I definitely prefer what we’re getting.
