I can see how MM's trailer adds extra value and possibilities for Menasor but Superion...

Surely CW Superion came pretty close to embodying the character(s) though? I thought Silverbolts engineering was pretty spot on.
I know the HFGs had mixed reviews but there are plenty of alternatives.
If you turn a blind eye to Fireflight not having his own design (my only gripe) I think he stands out as a pretty awesome.

I think I'm starting to go off the term 'screen accurate' because the screen wasn't accurate to start with.

I feel it needed PE upgrades to get the hands and feet right, as well as ‘anatomical accuracy’ (ahem).
Even then, fanmodes aside, the jets-on-the-front of the shins was off (like CW Menasor).
I still love him, but it’s a small gripe I still have with CW Supes.

I personally think any other combiners they do (aside from Devy) will be of the traditional Scramble City type. I brought up Superion as a possible candidate for the “skeleton” approach simply because he was kinda drawn that way in some scenes. I don’t think he’ll be done that way, though. I like the way most of the CW combiners look, but I hate the way they feel. The joints, materials and stability are just not up to the task. Regardless of the format they use for future combiners, I just want them to be solid figures!

Ugh.... I just realized that any future Superion is going to have the jets on the back of the legs....

Strict G1 accuracy really sucks for me.

Yeah, I much prefer the CW method of vehicles on the front.

Well you could technically flip them round but they don't look like 'accurate' decorated lego blocks. Also the nose cones did get in the way of the knee bend a little.
A decent set of hip ratchets would have been next level for these guys, nonnef's ratchets improved the range of motion but they just weren't gripy enough.

    My 2 cents
Menasor and Superion could use a similar frame.

I think a Defensor and Bruticus could also have a similar frame to each other.

Man, Superion still looks pretty good. I still love how the UW version looks on my display.

In fact, all the other Combiners still look pretty good, Menasor was the only one that was lacking which is probably the reason why Hasbro decided to make a new one before the rest. If they're bound to continue with the other teams is if they want to unify the look of the line to fit in the post-WFC design (which is admitedly understandable because it would also be easy money).

My take on superion is they can go Zeta Toys style, but not fully.

Each limb comes with their foot or hand, and then the legs come with 1 thigh each, and the arms come with a half of the lower torso each, build-a-figure style. Then Silverbolt can become the rest of the torso. Hasbro can gimmick the absolute hell out of those parts however they wish, preferably with similar combining gimmicks to menasor.

As do the Dinosaur and monster heads on Abominus, Piranacon and Volcanicus.

It's gonna be fun to see what they come up with regardless. I know that the whole Menasor situation has been pretty wild. Those limb auto-transformations are such a great surprise.

I think Superion needs the same leg setup as Motormaster.... So the Legs could be Deluxe, the arms could be Voyager (needing extra engineering for solid combiner elbows from deluxe waist and knees).... Or make all the jets Voayger to include their appendages.

I'd roflmfao if Silverbolt's undercarriage kibble just detaches to form the robot mode.

Why go that route when you could do retracted legs/extended torso for the elbow joints?

I think the only thing missing on this new Menasor for me is articulated hands

I thought that too but given he has a sword and articulated hands always seem to make robust stable sword holding at that size rather challenging, I am ok with fixed fists personally.

The sword looks to be 5 to 6 inches long so I would rather a firm grip than articulation.

Both would be the ideal but Hasbro never seem to manage it.
