HasTak's board members aren't stupid. One could argue that Menasor needed an upgrade more than any of the other main Combiners in the CW line and overall it is an improvement. But quality wise a lot of consumers won't ignore that things did take a slump after Legacy Motormaster and Dragstrip released and aren't going to be as quick to take that gamble with more Combiner reboots moving forward...

Now a new quality Monstructor and a not so half@ssed Liokiaser (6 quality Deluxe figures) would get a pass. But I'm not about to go hunting to complete another Superion, Abominus or Computron.

 

I see this narrative developing that the latter stunticons were lower in quality and I just don’t agree. I very much enjoy wildrider and dead end, more than drag strip

I was just about to mention that. Plus the fact that he doesn't have feet. Then there's Breakdown: a Wildrider retool and a bad retool at that. Massive downgrade from the first 3 memebers.

 

Since we're effectively arguing rankings:

1. Motormaster
2. Drag Strip
3. Breakdown
4. Wildrider
5. Dead End

If the QC issues on Dead End were fixed he'd be higher on the list, but out of box he sucks.

 

If Motormaster and Dragstrip are 9 out of 10, Wild Rider is a 5, and Dead End and Breakdown are 2s.

 

I'm a little more charitable toward Wildrider and Dead End, but Breakdown is absolute trash.

 

I'm committed to making my own custom instead.

 

Combine mode look better if cars on his legs was rotate forward never saw video of peopel doing that option if possible waist up looks great

 

Well, technically....

Of the 6 waves in CW, the first 2 had one member swapped, so Superion and Menasor took 2 waves to complete. The other 4 waves were 1 combiner per wave.

But even more technically, the 4 G1 combiners (not the white Optimus or sky Lynx waves) had 1 replacement member, with the g1 character being a special release later on. Blast Off was the last one, with almost 2 years between him and the CW Bruticus release.  

 

We did get a Blast Off in the Bruticus wave though, it was just a Aerialbot repaint. No new member was made for Bruticus otherwise.

 

Personally, I think we just need to temper our expectations when it comes to individual members of a combiner, all of the team members of legacy are far superior than Combiner Wars

I love the image of the stodgy old captains of industry on Hasbro's board gathered around a table of finest oak, debating the merits of CW Menasor. "All the shareholders and creditors know it was mid, bros."

 

Dead End has the car rear end problem of not staying together, the wheels are on the wrong side of the legs, and a lack of feet.
Breakdown also has the wheels on the wrong side of the legs as well as a horribly inaccurate car imo.

 

The worst thing about Breakdown to me is how they retooled his vehicle rear end. It's all new parts, but they couldn't put enough ports to accommodate his spoiler and his weapons. You have to choose one or the other. Then, there's the fact that the spoiler is one solid piece. It has nowhere to store on his robot mode, and your only option is to combine it with a gun to make an "axe" which is somehow worse than Red Alert's "axe".

"A Blast Off" that was a very cheap aerialbot recolor, without even the correct "faceplate face". In all aspects EXCEPT the name on the box it was a replacement character just like Alpha Bravo, Rook, and Offroad.
