Due to combining Target offers, one of them targeted, I got it for around $20. And for $20, I like it pretty well. I had to go through three copies to find a good one. Overall, I liked your review, but I totally agree with the idea that for retail price it's not that good. I realize this figure is generally popular because of the look of the robot mode, and I respect that - but I'm not interested in figures that aren't built well and don't have well-done alt-mode(s). I assume people will disagree, but I would wait to get this figure at 50% off because it feels like a 50% figure to me.

Edit: I read my post, and it sounds all negative to me lol. I'm not negative about Blitzwing - I actually like it quite a bit. It's pretty solid in all modes if you have a decent copy, and very chunky. Despite the obvious design oddities, it does look good. The point of my post is that I am negative on it - at retail price. That's all I meant.

Sadly, the truth is none of these post-T30/AoE leaders are worth the amount Hasbro charges. I own almost all of them, and they're good toys, but they're $40-ish toys, not $50+. There's just not enough there to justify a $20 upcharge from Voyagers.

Got this as a Christmas present from my girlfriend. We exchange gifts early due to us traveling.

I’m on the I enjoy this side. Bot mode is perfect. I don’t think we can get more animation accurate than this.

Tank mode is definitely the better of the two vehicles. It has the least amount of kibble of the two vehicles.

Jet mode, like it’s fine. I don’t hate it. It has some G1 toy goofy charm to it.

    Accessories
So the normal weapons are awesome but the hulk hands suck. I wish we would have just gotten more normal guns. Maybe a pistol that looks like the one Megatron picks up in the movie.

I never really liked the TR version. It felt cheap and I think the headmaster gimmick is a cop out when it comes to hiding the heads in vehicle mode (on figures who weren’t originally Head Masters). So yeah Legacy is a major step up.

Don't mean to brag but my goodness for $30 I love this thing. Don't really care for the jet mode but everything else is just fabulous! I hope they do Octane this good or better

I too am surprisingly happy with this guy. He was a tough sell at $55 but at $35ish I’m pretty happy.

I paid full price myself but with how awesome he is he was definitely worth the $90-and-change hit to the wallet when I got both him and Jhiaxus together

Took this down off the shelf the other day and now that a good nine months or so have I can clearly say that I really don't like this, it doesn't succeed in any of the modes is really not of that fun to mess with. This has the feeling of one of those movies you could tell was messed with and torn apart by studio executives tinkering. The inexplicable hulk hands are the perfect example of this.

Release the Snyder cut version of this figure

^ I'll disagree. I was dicking with him a few nights ago and still think he's fantastic.

I actually made a thread with a poll debating if I should get this guy, and majority voted to get.

It's true pictures and videos are meh, but once u get the guy in hand, especially in robot mode he is unbelievable love the size heft, poseability. Love the headscuplt. I had a hardtime putting him down. Sure his alt modes are sub par, but I think their is a mod to fix the jet mode. And I think a 3rd party company is doing a front tank cover

Those lower leg tabs are tight on my son's. Even though the instructions say to fold the tank barrel in he put it so it sticks up higher in robot mode "so it looks like Devastation and the cartoon".

Seconded. The jet mode will always be a sad note since we all know how it could have been better, but the figure and his tank mode are still solid AF.

Notwithstanding the lack of articulated fingers and weak jet mode which are the only obvious areas for improvement, the bot mode is that good it honestly makes the idea of an MP Blitzwing partly redundant in my mind as I'm not a stickler for scale and he actuallty looks pretty decent with my MP's. The added heft makes it feel almost like a fanstoys or something. Impressive.

That said the non tabbing lower legs are infuriating as hell and am I the only one with the tank canon bending slightly upwards and not being dead straight in profile, or is it supposed to be like that? (oooo, matron ... :p )

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna dip the barrel in boiling water to straighten it out; that's been driving me up a wall.

Clearly, the years of Kup's blatant canon-bending shenanigans have taken their toll! :D

My only other clean-up job has been to use some rubbing alcohol and a toothpick to gently scrape off the overspray of silver paint from the purple above the upper chest intakes without damaging the silver paint that's where it should be (not an easy task!) Don't know if others had this issue, but considering half the surrounding purple there was silver, I'm satisfied with the results (below). Not 100% perfect but therein madness lies!  o_O

Overall, I love this guy. Best display Blitzwing to date. if you can accept the shoddy jetmode and occasional paint imperfections, and - like me - are the kind of person who finds a killer pose, displays in bot mode then leaves it be, LBW is honestly like getting a slightly downsized MP Blitzwing early. If I bought the eventual MP it would only be for a comparably good (or possibly inferior?) bot mode and better jet that wouldn't be displayed in alt mode anyway. As for the shin tabs/tolerances, MP's are riddled with those kind of annoyances anyway, so really nothing new! All in all, he's ready for his closeups Mr DeMille ...

Thinking about trying the idea suggested above by @Seamus McLame, but s'pose it depends how easy (or how confident I am) to detatch the canon from the backpack assembly safely without breaking. :inquisiti

Can someone post some pics if so? Not sure if the connection around the silver pin would bust and then I'd be screwed basically.
