That's my favorite part about Orion and Dion using the same mold as Kup! It helps drive home the point of how ancient he really is!

 

Excellent set of retools -- new heads, a new weapon for Ariel, Dion seems to have some kind of cargo that transforms into his shoulder pylons -- with excellent paint jobs. The set with Alpha Trion was easy to get, so hopefully this will be too.

pls no more Legacy Arcee mold it's so thin and spindly and the torso looks really awkward. I'll buy this to support Dion though. Even funnier he now shares the same build as Orion almost as if they were brothers... hmmm..

Probably the best Dion yet considering he was G1 Wheelie and Universe Hot Shot with Cop-tur prior...

lol yea Hasbro is sick for using that Arcee mold so many times..but it’s smart…I don’t like handling it myself. But they got me on the repaints.

 

Judging from the back image, Ariel’s head is going to look small on Legacy Arcee body.

The new front motorcycle piece is nice though.

That gun is definitely Elita-1 inspired.

 

My combiner want list has Raiden, Monstructor, Liokaiser definitely.

 

The Ironhide mold adapted pretty well perfectly. Bulkhead…not so much. Between the earthen vehicle mode and the swing-and-miss robot mode, it’s an interesting idea and well executed but just not very convincing.

"Erial" is interesting. I'm not sure if it was done that way to avoid clashing with another's trademark, or to create a new variant on the name Hasbro might be able to trademark themselves, but either way I find it cute that they basically just swapped two letters. I'm not a fan of the Legacy Arcee mold, and I would've preferred working from the Elita/Minerva mold, as that already had sort of a 'teenage girl' proportion IMO. I understand why they didn't, though, as making pink car Pre-Elita out of the pink car Elita toy wouldn't necessarily be much of a difference.

Not sure how I feel about Dion using the Kup mold one more time, but it looks the part,and I can appreciate the theories popping up in this thread that the Kup-style body plan was just a common design pre-war, and Kup was just the only guy to never trade up between then and now.  

 

There was even an episode in S3 where Kup was young in a flashback and had different colors.

We have a Cybertronian Megatron, Soundwave, and Shockwave, who can work as the versions from War Dawn.

I think the events of that episode would have been shortly after Megatron killed Sentinel Prime, so I think you could fudge Sentinel onto that shelf.

 

I have and dislike both the base molds, so money saved for me. There will definately be other opportunities for Dion in the future as im sure sales for this 2 pack will do well. 

 

Personally, I prefer the more streamlined look on Netflix Elita’s robot mode.

I give Orion Pax’s gun to her.

 

I was about to get the Toyhax gun as I hate the translucent, oversized one that comes with Legacy Elita, so I'm very happy they included it here. On the other hand, I really wish they included some more accessories. As it is already been pointed out, a couple of energon cubes from the Centurion set would have been great, especially considering they pictured one in Dion's hands on the box.
