So you're going to continue to be pedantic. It's still just a reskin of the gimmick and it's perfectly reasonable to point out they don't form convincing weapons like literally everything that did it beforehand. It's the same gimmick, just now they can transform without partsforming. That doesn't keep it from being effectively the same thing.

Fossilizers could easily form guns too. Modulators were could be weapons. Just look at the Weaponizer build thread (or by your standards should it all be separated into several threads because they're not technically "Weaponizers"?) 5mm ports and posts placed can be easy tickets to versatility. These for some reason are the first ones that don't appear to make weapons or shields. It's not that it doesn't do it perfectly, it's like they didn't even do it at all despite them openly calling it the next in line for the gimmick during streams.

I feel like these guys were designed just to be modular and not so much to form weapons and armor etc.

And imo i think cog is the only weaponizer that makes truly convincing weapons

Sixgun/Cromar absolutely make convincing weapons. Which is appropriate, since the original Sixgun was the original weaponizer.

Personally, none of the "armor up" guys make any kind of convincing armor. I had to create my own attachment block so I could use Exo Suit to make a convincing chest piece to plug into Slicer.

Honestly I'm just glad these Junkions exist. I liked the Weaponizers, Modulators and especially Fossilizers, BUT there was one problem: they partsform a lot.
The Legacy Junkions here fix that problem. They transform with little to no partsforming.

Yeah, totally not different that the Junkions don't partsform. That's not a big deal and shoul not hinder their ability to form weapons for larger figures..

I wasn't interested in weaponizers, modulators and fossilizers for precisely that reason! They were incohesive piles that didn't have alt modes that wowed me

Yeah, it's an improvement on the formula. They evolved it. Probably due in part to the Junkions being able to rebuild themselves and Hasbro wanting that to carry over to their vehicle modes, which would necessitate an actual transformation this time.

The core gimmick is still present though. They still separate into various pieces and attach to other figures as accessories.

Yeah, Weaponizes and Fossilizers didn't interest me specifically because you couldn't transform them without taking them apart.

But it's clear as day the Legacy Junkions are an update to the gimmick in allowing them to transform as one piece. But they still come apart, modulate, and can be used as weapons/armor/etc. I'm not seeing how this is being missed. It's a huge improvement, but it absolutely stems from--and is part of--that original concept.

What I was really hoping to see in video reviews of these Legacy Junkions is using one of the Junkions to combine with the other. Images and video demo of combining Scraphook with Junkion 2 would have been great. Here’s to hoping that the next Junkion 2 reviews focus on Scraphook intergration. It would have been nice to see if one could swap out Scraphook limbs with Junkion 2 limbs. Or see if one could make a new transformer with just the parts of these two figures.

The “energon monsters” turned out to be the pretender based figures. I was disappointed that they weren’t something that integrated with the energon weapoms.

classics Hound was …meh. The alt mode didn’t suit him and was obscured from its Jeep concept vehicle roots enough to look really dumb. He still had that same dumb transformation where the deck of the jeep flips 90 degrees and becomes huge hobbit feet while leaving him shorter than he should be and his arms just looked scrawny. G1 hound has one of the dumbest arm configurations ive seen on any figure and not once has any version of him gotten it right. How many hood/chest Autobots simply folded the arms underneath with the wheels out on the shoulders? Easy to engineer especially with a world of room under the big boxy front clip and a vehicle which should sit up tall with plenty of ground clearance. The robot modes using this look nice and bulky/powerful as a Jeep based character should be.

Yeah, actually it shouldn't. Maybe don't be a dick about it? Most of the weapons were made from the limbs coming apart which these ones do. The torso being put aside is an okay enough concession but there's zero reason why these limbs don't seem to function as well.

Pretty sure that the "Energon Monsters" were at one point meant to be translucent Weaponizers that complement the Energon weapon gimmick from the first year of Legacy, is just that they decided to drop the whole gimmick halfway and released other toys instead (I mean, is pretty weird that we didn't get any sort of Weaponizers at all for the first part of Legacy since every line got them since WFC).

    Absolutely agreed.

Plus, it would be odd for “Energon Monsters” to be the first and only time that Hasbro bothered with a code name for a mainline release. If they were always meant to be the Pretenders, they would have simply been called that from the beginning.

While different, I think the new Junkions combine in their own special way :)

Thanks! I'm hoping the leg mode is legit and that we're actually going to get a Junkion combiner :)  Those weird accessories on this recent leak might be used for fusing the bots. And yes, I bought it from this shop called Punchy's Lab: Punchy's Lab by PunchyTheDog - Shapeways Shops

Uh-huh, I'm just pointing out, in my opinion, what are errors in your thinking. Sorry you're so easily offended

I just don't get why do you and expect a fully transforming figure to also magically partsform perfectly as well on a mainline Budget

You could say: "I don't really like these new Junkions. I wish they had stayed like before and partsformed completely, instead of transforming and sacrificing the weaponizer Gimmick"
But you're just not gonna have both. I personally absolutely love how they turned out

    "Sorry you're so easily offended."

You do realize you used sarcasm to mock what's an extremely dumbed down idea of what I've been saying? Sarcasm in a conversation is rude. Sarcasm while you deliberately misrepresent what I say is even ruder. You didn't just put up a reasonable counterargument on why you don't agree like you're acting you did. You went full blue text in a condescending tone. I don't get what's with people on the internet and thinking they should just get away with stuff that wouldn't fly in normal conversation. You use sarcasm like that on someone in person, they're going to pick up on it and may well tell you to cut it out, if not just leave. Nobody likes a smartass. Grown adults like you should know better than to act like petulant teens on Twitter.

I actually don't expect it to partsform perfectly. I've literally put in suggestions that would still work with the transformation and you're continuing to act like this is some impossible feat or like I'm asking for it to be "perfect." Do you even read? It's not some difficult thing to add a couple more posts and ports to configure the limbs better while keeping a transformation.
