After the longest wait I finally got this guy... And boy he's just... Alright. The articulation is neat (Not to the level of SS86 Hot Rod but still pretty good) and the figure looks good, but there are multiple things I absolutely loathe about it. The light pipping straight up doesn't work unless the figure is under a light, while on natural light the eyes only iluminate from the side. Yes, you heard that right, from the side. It's also floppy mess at the legs at least on mine, and why did they made his arms in a way they lock on vehicle mode but the same joint doesn't on bot mode? That shit keeps on flopping down, sideways-elbow action thanks to the weight of the cannon. And the tarnsformation was unpleasant to do, it wasn't satisfying nor fun and only had one point that made me go "neat" (the spinning tread bits from the chest).
More of a problem I personally have with it, I don't like the fact that he's basically a cardboard cutout. Looks great from the front but from the side lacks depth for such a buff design.

Two main things I dont really like are the way the shoulders work and as you mentioned that joint above the elbow. It should have at least had a tab there. Doesn't stop this being an absolute amazing figure tho.

It's nice to see our tryhard edgelord doofus get more recognition in recent years. It's especially nice that Hasbro rolled out their transforming toy before Super7 released their more expensive robot-only figure.

And now he's a Cyberverse toy (time to army build!) :lol

Ineffective light piping sucks. If any toy needed to recapture whatever black magic allowed DotM Shockwave's eye to glow in every lighting condition, it was this one.

The backpack took a LOT of effort to properly plug in. It's clear plastic too, so I do worry about longevity.

The extra effort put into the hands and hips are really cool, which makes the somewhat limited shoulders all the more perplexing.

    Tarn-nation!

I'm not sure if Hailstorm was the very first to do that folded-tread-shoulders thing, but I always felt like he influenced Tarn (and Teserus') design a bit.

Love that there are a few options for cannon placement in tank mode! If they ever make a Vos, I hope he can be used as an extra turret here.

Even though I have much love lost for the comic he came from, I'll always appreciate the work Milne did on this guy. I was glad to see him in Cyberverse, and I am glad to see him in toy form. He's no Kultur, but he's no slouch. I think this is definitely one of the better voyagers recently.

Why can't all figures be as good as this? I hope we see more like this in the future

Picked up Tarn yesterday. It's a great figure, and his transformation is close enough to Kultur (thats a third party Tarn figure, for the curious) that I'd theorize they might have owned that figure when they designed this one.

Anyway, love this figure. You can tell Hasbro wasnt about to mess up a fan-favoritelike that.

I mean his transformation is nigh identical to the source material, so the similarities aren't surprising.

Any figure that can pull off a Michigan. J. Frog pose unassisted is a good one.

Okay off the cuff? That was pretty clever. Would like twice or give an award if they had that feature on this forum.
