So today I chopped off those fake wheels. Crotch needs another coat.

 

After 234 years of waiting after first seeing it reach people I finally got mine and yeah, he's great. Very seldom these days do we get something with no particular drawback. He's not tiny, has no blatant hollow bits, great articulation, pretty good in both modes, decent paint etc. $35 isn't bad for voyagers this good.

Yeah, he's every bit as good as everyone says. Weirdly, he feels like a straight up toy of Tarn from the comics rather than Tarn being "CHUGified" if you follow. Not like with the Animated or UT guys (or Leo Prime, who's also really great), who all feel like they were put through a filter.

It's just a badass toy of Tarn and now I really genuinely want them to do an MTMTE Rodimus in Legacy III.

 

Yeah, Tarn is easily a top 5 of 2023 for me also!

He looks like he walked right out of the comic. Massive, massive props to Hasbro’s team for making this guy work. My only nitpick is that yes, I still was wanting him to be bigger and bulkier. In the comics he’s not really that big, certainly no Overlord, but he’s meant to be such a stone wall of a killer than I would’ve liked a bit bigger and bulkier. It was really crazy getting him in hand with how flat and nimble he is. But, nonetheless, it’s nice to have a good Tarn that isn’t going for an arm and a leg.

I also would’ve liked much better light piping because those optics were made for it.

Still really great. I don’t even want to transform him because the robot mode is so great.

 

OK so I took a little time tonight to pop Tarn open. Mine was supposed to arrive from Amazon on March 26th but, arrived early which I'm thankful for.

First impression is Oh. My. Gawd. It absolutely deserves the hype it's been receiving.

What a damn near perfect toy. It looks absolutely fantastic. He has the same thing going on as Studio Series 86 Hot Rod and Kingdom Cyclonus in that he is so kibble free and posable that you can't hardly tell that he's a transformer. It's like a really great Marvel Legends or GI Joe Classified figure that also happens to have the ability to transform.

The Decepticon logo head looks amazing and intimidating.

Everything is spectacular about this. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.

Serious kudos to Hasbro and Takara on this one. Early entry on the best figures of 2023 list.

If I had to make one minor complaint, it's that he feels very light and insubstantial.

*Edit: AND working light piping! Very cool!

 

My only complaint is the mask, but that's on my todo list for the kit I'm working on. Pretty much a perfect 5/5 for this guy regardless.

 

I want to take the head apart and put some foil behind the clear piece to reflect more light thru but I'm too scared lol. Did it on soundblaster and worked amazing
