got him for 20, he’s alright for that price but for 25? Absolutely not

Transformation is… alright, plane mode isn’t as chunky as the stock photos suggests best thing is that there’s a flight stand port at the bottom of the jet, so that’s pretty cool!

Hollowness on the forearms and thighs are a bit egregious considering the back of his legs are hollow, but not enough to be a dealbreaker

colors wise I wish they decked it more out on the knees like the G1 stickers because he does look bland and boring.

The way his back is tied can lead to paint chipping (since the front of the jet is blue plastic with grey painted over) and I have a tiny blemish on the cockpit.

targetmasters aren’t great (wish they have arm articulation at least) but I’d take that over him being Pointblanked. His fin is also on a 5mm port but is never mentioned in the instructions. Zigzag is molded purple with black painted over except the 5mm ports on his back.

He looks ok, but not sure on him. I had the g1, so the appeal is mostly nostalgia

I want to love him. I love pretty much everything unique to the character (headsculpt, alt-mode, Double Targetmaster, the general colorscheme) but the figure just seems... really really meh and unexciting. A lot of that is the design (while the colors are fun, the layout isn't terribly dynamic and the robot mode is pretty generic) but... the figure just doesn't seem to do anything particularly well.

In my earlier days when I A: Bought more and had more space, B: Figures cost less and C: Targetmasters were harder to find (I only bought Scoop for his Targetmasters) I'd prolly pick it up but now I'll only get him on pretty decent discount.

PvsP creamed his pants about this figure in his youtube reviews. I'm still on the fence. Might get him on discount.

One of the main reasons I don't like PvsP reviews, he's an exhausting cheerleader about almost everything which isn't remotely helpful in actually making a decision.

I too will probably end up passing until it's on sale.

PvP gushes about almost every figure. He's not a reviewer to watch if you want an objective opinion about a given figure.

Well, to be fair... the original figure was exactly all of that. I had it, it was one of my favorite G1 figures of my youth (sadly he was lost in a move... I was a sad lil' toddler), and even though he was so much fun as a child (and to some extent, would be as an adult), I can't in good faith not point out his flaws.

And basically all of the flaws you listed out apply to the G1 figure as well, if not moreso.

So this figure is probably more for those who either A. Have a nostalgic lean toward the figure, or B. are Targetmaster/G1 completionists of some variety.

For me, it's A. I'll get this figure.

I guess it's B for me, then. I'll still get me but I'm a bit disappointed as the character was fun in the IDW comics, and I have been looking forward to having a modern figure of him for quite some time.

It won't be HK dollars...I'm in HK too and $20 HK is like $2.50 US. Honestly $20US is still a pretty good price for HK, this place is expensive.

I dig the look of these guy, especially that they worked in the double Targemasters, but those empty box thighs without even any waffling or tech detail are pretty dang brutal.

I just wished that there were paint applications on the knees/ legs like the G1 toy and the smaller ones at the wings and fin. He’s just so plain to look at. It’s not great when the TFCC toy looks better in the paint department. Toyhax can definitely touch him up though.

Can the cockpit be folded up any in robot mode? I thought I remembered seeing comments/pics to that effect, but now I’m doubting myself. Because hanging down like that is pretty awkward.

Looks great, big improvement over the TFCC version. Can’t wait to pick him up to go with Quake and Spinister.

You can flip it up on his back if you remove his tailfin. Then you can plug the tailfin on one of his Targetmasters, or any of the other 5mm ports on the toy.

@Avux needs to update his avatar with it. The use of the incorrect colour from the press release is agitating my OCD! ;)
