Animated Prowl is my second favorite version of Prowl but Animated came out just I was getting "too old" for Transformers, so I was pretty happy he was the first Animated character revisited in Legacy.

I have to say I think in terms of Deluxe Bike Bots, Arcee is a bit better in alt-mode and transformation but robot mode I'd give the slight edge to Prowl. Both are about comparable in terms of "G1ification" redesigns imo.

 

Since this thread was “revived”, if anyone needs a size comparison with a figure let me know. If I have the figure I will try and do it.

Fair also hard to beat black and gold.

Ironically it came out when I was too young. But interestly enough he was the only Deluxe and non-activator toy I had from Animated.

But yeah he came out good also in addition to the head looking better in hand, he doesn’t look as bulky as some photo’s portrayed. The bike is weak but it doesn’t kill it for me. And for G1-ification the best of the Legacy figures.

 

A “bit better?” She’s a bike. Prowl is a poorly played game of Tetris on wheels.

 

I don’t despise it but yeah it’s not great. Don’t hate it but still not very good.

It seems to mostly all come down to the waist down area, and how the arms fold.

 

He is no replacement for a G1/Earthrise Prowl. I see this guy as an alternate form of Animated Prowl who will look good with those old Animated toys.

I would call this guy Ricochet if I ever get him for Generations bunch.

I think it's funny how new Prowl looks like they took old Prowl and put him under a hydraulic press. Just squish him down a bit

 

Prowl - can be retooled into G1 Override

Crashbar - can be retooled into G2 Road Pig

 

You don't stay the same 15 years later that's for sure.

I'm having trouble getting Prowl to stand up in motorcycle mode. Here's a picture of the motorcycle leaning against the edge of my computer. Is there something mistransformed? Thanks.

 

From memory (haven’t transformed mine back to alt mode since I got it) I had that problem as well. Best would be to lean it against the kickstand, that’s how it stood the best.

 

I also have the issue, and it seems you've done everything right. I think the kickstand is just inefficient.

Haha wow, that combined mode looks way cooler than it has any right to. Kinda wish I hadn't sold my Skywarp.

 

This is both the dumbest and amazing thing I’ve seen. It should look terrible but it doesn’t.

 

My experience is that Prowl's front doesn't always correctly position itself to the point where the wheels are spread enough for the kickstand to work. I managed to get mine to work, but it was a fiddly struggle, TBH.

That said, am I the only one who looks at Prowl's hourglass figure and think it could pass as a fembot if you swapped the head?

 

I feel like most characters you can say that but yeah could see it.
