Tarn looks awesome!
Leo Prime looks impressive.
Between the two, he's definitely my favorite. While not as cool or imposing as Tarn, he's really the complete package. Accuracy, gimmicks, transformation... they're all top-notch.
Babey boy… the only thing that would stop him from being figure if the year is if Beachcomber is the best WFC+ Minibot or Armada Prime is like literally perfect.
Hmm… somehow forgot Deathsaurus. Those’re my four perfections for top 4 figs of 2023. With Armada Megs rounding out the top 5. It’s crazy how good we’re eating. Animated, Armada, JG1, JBW, Idw, and others all in one line?? This is amazing.
Is this... Legacy Prowl?!
Only issue I've been seeing people have with Tarn.
It is!!! And the second Junkion if you haven’t seen it! And Prowl vehicle mode.
Tarn was so close to being one of the best all around figures since ER OP...just needed to cover up the damn hands in alt mode, give more ankle tilt range, and give a lil more clearance for waist rotation without having to adjust the backpack.
Leo Prime is pretty decent despite all the kibble in bot mode and the limitations in arm posing because of that. His accessories just look so puny. I'm actually glad they didn't paint the lion pupils because of how bad Hastak has painted pupils on beast heads recently. The partially visible bot hands are also annoying.
Tarn's posing would be off the charts if it wasn't for a few quirks. He can actually do a full Hadouken pose (I'll take a photo of that later). His right foot here is not level on the ground due to the limited ankle tilt. There's no escaping from the lion kibble in Leo Prime's bot mode.
Custom blast effects (NFS) used here. It doesn't show in this view, but both alt modes have visible bot hands (more of an issue with Tarn).
If one has difficulty opening up Leo Prime's chest, there's an easy method that avoids scuffing the paint.
Simply put your thumbs on the shoulders from the front and push them to the back to pop open the doors.
I really wish Hasbro / Takara would keep this fusion / hybrid of various styles going for awhile because it'd be nice for a change rather than simply getting new toys of figures we've already gotten toys of.
That's not at all to say I don't see the novelty or desire to get better figures for guys who didn't exactly get one, but I just love the results we've been getting from this line. D:
Some more stuff.
Tarn has tapped into the Dark Hadou. His hands are vertically over each other. Hadouken!
LE Leo Prime using LG Leo Prime's blasters.
LG Leo Prime's sword is great. I noticed on my copy of LE Leo Prime that there was INTERNAL hand port flash on his right hand that prevented pegs from going in (or scratching them up real good). Spent a bit of time to shave that down with a razor. Now the handle fits just fine. I saw a recent listing on TFLand on Taobao for a KO version of this sword (and the Magna Convoy repaint), so hopefully they'll hit eBay soon.
The only mounting options in alt mode are the head ports. The inner thigh ports won't work.
Legacy Evolution Leo Prime is a good bit smaller than the LG figure but much, much more poseable.
Tarn with MSS exhaust blast effects (due to qc problems, requires modding in order to work, unfortunately) with Dr. Wu missiles, as well as red Rung blast effects.
Kingdom Optimus Primal x Leo Prime. "GO FASTER, LIE-O!" "SHUT UP, APE!"
Late Christmas gift
The answer is, and always is, ebay.
I bet kingdom Rhinox would make a good Beast Wars Ironhide. The way the chest transforms is pmuch the same as the original toy.
Yeah, I was lucky the seller was from Canada.
I've seen quite a few eBay listing for these Legacy Evolution wave 1 figures out of Canada. Super weird, they're usually all China/Malaysia for early releases!
Yeah they’ve been out at Canadian retail for a couple of weeks now.
Lucky. Low key my most anticipated deluxe of wave 1. How is he?
