I'm thinking we could see solarbot with Twincast. They did translucent cassette bots with Blaster and Shattered glass Blaster, and I feel they wont give us Steeljaw until they do blaster on studio series 86, so they could easily do a translucent yellow cassette bots with Twincast.
Yeah but Twincast design is similar to Soundblaster as in his opening is deeper so could hold two cassettes. They're not gonna do two the same colour
March or April, it matches with the timeline from Legacy's reveal to wave 2's reveal (October to April)
Still think this dude looks lovely, that silver paint is something else; I think a lot of opinions would be different if they had given his red wheels some silver paint for the rims. (On a side note, I still feel that Hasbro lost some sales with Burnout not having the Skids head. Or maybe that's just me. I know I would have gotten it.)
I view it as simply a mouthplate that can be removed. Bumblebee having a mouthplate in the toy didn't stop me from wanting to have him despite the cartoon version having a mouth.
Yeah, admittedly it's not the biggest deal to me; if we weren't getting Crosscut, I would have grabbed them. But knowing that of course they would be doing a Crosscut, I saw no need to get them; in my weird thinking, I felt I could justify getting the same mold if they had different heads ha ha. Oh well, I'm just happy we are getting options!
Did they retool Siege Soundblaster though? That was true for the original toys but since then we haven't really seen Soundblaster be anything but a redeco and I don't really see them changing that for Blaster either. So in order for them to do Solarbot they either have to compromise Twincast and make his door clear yellow or they have to produce two of that transparent sprue and scrap the extra parts on each which I'm skeptical they'd do. They COULD of course roll with the clear yellow door and paint what would be clear red as solid red but that'd look kinda weird (frankly molding the cassete with the door was a shot in the foot).
Yes, siege Soundblaster has a 2x deep cassette chest. Not much good as they screwed up the tolerances on the tapes though and they are mostly juuuuuust slightly too big to really fit
Yes, Siege Soundblaster has a new chest panel that sticks out of his chest to hold two cassettes instead of the usual one. Edit: Gah! Ninja'd by Neko-bot77. ~L~
Because no one asked: I like having ER Soundwave in my Season 1 shelf and Siege Soundblaster on my Headmasters shelf. It’s “backwards” but it’s nice to have this sort of “remolds” for the same character.
They might extend the chest and not give us a tape to go with it at all. Although Twincast had a red window, and I wondered whether they would do red translucent Ravage and call him stripes. And yes the Sounblaster from 35th anniv had the expanded chest, but I got the takara 'Mercenaries' one and it will take two tapes. I use wingthing and Skar from Gens selects 4 cassettes pack with him.
Now that would be frustrating. I, and I'm sure many others, have been counting on Twincast to at least include a Legacy scale Rewind. I'm not sure I would buy a Twincast, in addition to the Blaster I already have, if the only point of distinction is the ability to hold two cassettes at once - especially since Blaster has no official cassette partners currently available. ~L~
Its probably a case of will people who may not pick up another repaint be swayed if it came with Steeljaw. Studio series has started the cassette man mold with Rumble(blue!) and we know Frenzy is coming so Eject and Rewind will surely follow in this range. So im thinking either Ramhorn or Steeljaw will sway the Twincast sales, which Hasbro would find more profitable. We'll see soon enough.
