Likely that the wheel parts were connected to the elbows, hands and crotch mold. There's likely no actual black plastic on this figure, and the knee plates are probably paint if anything. Painting the wheels would likely chip the paint. Personally, it's not something that bothers me.
Crosscut is the reason why I skipped burnout. Glad to see it finally came out. Love the red wheels in robot mode. In car mode though...
Dear God, who OK'ed this deco? Why does Hasbro always have to design the worst gang molding sheets possible? Indie toy companies and even other Hasbro lines run circles around this amateur shit.
That deco looks absolutely atrocious. Wich is a shame, because normally Crosscut is my go to Skids repaint.
So. Colored tires are apparently a thing. Not exactly common but they exist. Might just pop em off and paint them. I'm no customizer, but it's probably one of the easier mods I've seen. "Shrug"
Robot mode colors look really excellent. Honestly kind of dig the red wheels because of how weird and different it makes him look. Definitely more interesting than black.
Fandom: They can’t possibly beat any modern mold up more than Siege Megs or maybe that TR Monsterbot molt, those things got the hell knocked out of them! Hasbro: Hold my beer… Seriously they’ve done way more with this mold than I’d have guessed at first. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the 5th use of this mold in a calendar year? (OG, V500, crankcase, the medic, and now this one) That’s kind of impressive for what initially looked like a little shitbox with a square head.
If I come across another Velocitron burnout, I’ll use it to get wheels for this. The red wheels are shit.
The problem with painting tires is that due to their position and function, that paint is far likelier to rub off.
