So what's the chance of them releasing a 5 Stunnticons together? Hopefully if it does happen all or most QC issues will be fixed.

 

I think I had this discussion before with someone and the feeling is they will. Nothing official yet but producing it in the style of the original g1 set would be amazing.

As for motormaster I was waiting for all the stunticons to be released before opening him up but now I do have them all I don't have the time to do these guys and this figure justice.

They all look great and I love the artwork on the motormaster package. The artists have really nailed the art on these releases.

I'll make do with opening minerva, skids and cybertron metroplex (the hardship) before tacking this guy. I really want to have the time to really enjoy my second favorite combiner team after the predacons

 

I would think a G2 version would be released for sure.

Hey tbh I think I'll go for the G2 recolor now. I had a conversation with someone about it and the G2 colors look so much better.

 

I mean I hope so after Shadowstrip. I’m not looking forward to the FOMO and accompanying anxiety.

I've been on the fence for months, but took the chance when he came down to leader money.

It's... okay? Building up a large figure this way works really well, I'm hoping that if Armada Prime is this year's commander, he pulls it off similarly well with his combination scheme.

Motormaster himself just isn't clicking with me. I know that clear plastic is the devil to some people, but the cab looks really bad to me with it's painted windows. Doesn't wow me like Rodimus did, though admittedly Rodimus had to carry the real value of his set, while the trailer here has real value.

Speaking of, the base mode is whatever, and the combiner frame is really solid with the exception of the knees. I think the springs in the latches are a little weak, bending the knee is liable to start sliding the joint out if I am not careful.

I don't know if I want to finish this set. I had Dragstrip, who is great purely on his own merits. I skipped Wildrider as he looked really boring, and now he is gone. Breakdown is unfortunately a refresh of Wildrider. Dead End, I made a point of getting today before he disappears, and he's a real mixed bag. Do I finish this, or just hide Menasor's shins with other figures? Decisions, decisions.

As you will see at the link, the leg reinforcement part upgrades close the combined mode shins without any need for the two leg Stunticons.

 

Just picked this guy up. I know from casual skimming through the thread that this set has a lot of problems. Any chance some kindly somebody could summarize the faults, QC issues and places that might be knackered right out of the box or accidentally damaged upon first transformation/combination? Knowing me I'll miss one.

Not a lot of problems, but in some copies the black pinned shoulder hinges have broken after a few transformations. This is due to the tabs of the white joints that rotate and connect to the chest to form the body during the transformation. The tabs can be too thick and while you push them in the slot you end transmitting too much pressure on the hinge. I took an x-acto and shaved the tab of my left hinge, following the example of this guy:

It is still tight (I might shave another bit), but it is not worrisome as before, and so far my hinge is intact.

No other issues, I love this figure!

 

I'm guessing this'll never be released at retail price ever again?

I wasn't tabbing it: I just delicately rotated down the white hinge when I heard the sound of something snapping. I'll probably try to put a dab of superglue, but I think there is not much one can do, I just hope it will hold over time.

Not opened mine yet but definitely going to be super careful with that joint.

 

I got one for myself off Amazon as a Christmas gift to myself, but I’m think I’m waiting to open him until I get Breakdown. That said, once I open him he’s getting a Randy Savage mustache and all because Animated Motormaster was peak Motormaster.

 

Don't worry, I was going to mess with it anyway, it really is a fun toy. It's unfortunate that a QC/design flaw has made it so stressful. However, it doesn't seem to be a big deal, and I 've tried to put a very thin layer of superglue in the crack, I hope it prevents it from getting worse.
Retrospectively, I maybe should have also shaved the seam that runs over the white left shoulder joint, it possibly makes it thicker than it should be, increasing the risk of breakage.

 

Got some Lego but none of the other carbots?
