That was Cybertron, not Armada.

You can blame that on the fact the Cybertron Cartoon was made with 0 intention to be connected to Armada or Energon.

 

He's talking about springs, which have been limited to WfC Blaster and Soundwave, and even then was just enough to pop open a door. Even Studio Soundwave (from Bee Movie) didn't use one.

 

Intriguing. I guess they probably had to reset the status quo a lot at the beginning of each show. Didn't Megatron get upgraded into Galvatron 3 separate times?

Yeah, BW definitely had the "decorative" excuse, even in the likes of TM Megatron, where even in the show it's fully apparent the T-Rex headtop on his chest is just stylizing. Sometimes it works (Airrazor), other times I'm not a fan (Waspinator--still love me T30). But the whole backside situation on Inferno? I'm less of a fan, for other reasons.

Still, "decorative" isn't new. Even Wreck Gar; that motorcycle-front helmet is totally an actual, human based junker motorcycle front he fashioned into a helmet, coated fully in Junkion Pledge Future.

 

That's an unfortunate artifact of the Dubbing and Hasbro's naming conventions at the time. In the Japanese version, Armada Galvatron is basically just Super Megatron, Energon Megatron was Galvatron, Energon Galvatron was Galvatron G and Cybertron Megatron was Master Megatron or something like that. Can't remember what Cybertron Galvatron was called in Galaxy Force. So in the original language the upgrade from Megatron to Galvatron happened when he was revived within Unicron during Energon.

 

Oops yep I was forgetting a step where bat Primal/Nyx gets made.

 

Yes but only in the US versions. In the Japanese versions Megatron didn't become Galvatron until Superlink (Energon) and he was still called Megatron until he stated he wanted to be called "Galvatron-sama" after beating the shit out of Megazarak.

 

Armada Screamer looks great but I\'m fine with the T30 version, now if we get some Thindercracker, skywarp, and Ramjet repaints then we can talk. 

Now legacy bw Inferno, words can not describe the excitement and relief I feel for finally seeing this guy. It\'s going to be so cool have the S1 cast, but hasbro please don\'t stop there let\'s get the rest of the show cast: Silverbolt, Quickstrike, Depth Charge, Rampage, Tigerhawk, Dinobot 2 maybe throw in some Transmetal and Transmetal 2 versions of the main cast, hell why not throw in the Tripredacus council. There\'s and exclusive right there, do individual mainline releases of the the Tripredacus council, then a Target exclusive red show deco set. 

 

Overall these look good, but on Armada Starscream, why is the sword/wing a cheat? For a voyager that seems chintzy. Then again, he also looks a lot like a deluxe instead.

BW Inferno looks pretty good in both modes, minus the mistransformed chest and butt in bot mode, and the bot legs clumsily crammed into the abdomen. That robot jaw is UNHINGED too.

 

Lol, you can blame Takara for that. While Hasbro had always meant for the Unicron Trilogy to be a Trilogy, Takara developed the Galaxy Force, or also known as Cybertron for the global release, Anime as a stand alone series. Hasbro later had to forcefully retcon this series to become a part of the Unicron Trilogy. Also, Takara later retconned it back as a part of their Unicron Trilogy. It's messy as fuck!

I guess they wanted good looking bug legs rather than bulky robot legs as weird big legs like the original toy(even the toon didn’t do that) but they definitely should have had the arms form the front ant legs.

However good ant bug legs leads to having to store the legs in the butt which means the butt jet thruster can’t be in there nor a proper 4th panel. So the thruster gets to be a separate piece and thus they doubled it as his gun which is a fail. I really hope it plugs in to form the butt jetpack…

then as a result of that being his gun he doesn’t get a proper accurate gun nor utilize mandibles in that gun. The gun should have stored in the ant head and has the mandibles form the sides like the toon. kinda a running cause and effect of compromises due to the choice of bug legs.

however he still looks amazing and a great update. The head is so accurate and nice. Makes me think who the F approved Rhinox design when nothing about it hit any mark. Even Terrorsaur who was a partial remold of airazor got a great looking head sculpt. That alone could have made the rhinox figure at least have one thing going for it.

 

I honestly really hope we get a core class of the Star Saber minicons. As for Armada Starscream, I really like it, but there’s some white missing on his legs and the wing sword I do wish was better(hopefully a 3P gets on it and maybe on the Star Saber as well). But these two Voyagers are must haves for me.

 

In Armada, Galvatron sacrificed himself to kill Unicron. In Energon, Megatron got resurrected in a new body, got powered up into Galvatron again, and sacrificed himself to make sure Unicron couldn't return. In Cybertron, after 10 years he emerged from the black hole caused by Unicron's spark going into a sun, merged himself with Unicron's power, and started calling himself Megatron yet again. Then half way through the series he powers up and calls himself Galvatron, AGAIN. Then Optimus Prime kills him but Vector Prime's spark then constantly battles Galvatron's spark for the rest of time so he can never return. UT is weird.

 

Cybertron's best thought of as it's own show as Takara decided to go off in it's own direction for it despite Hasbro wanting it to be continuation of Armada/Energnon. Some toy bios and other ancillary media tried to correct this but it doesn't really work as a sequel to the aforementioned two.

Believe the Megatron to Galvatron cycle was just so they could keep the trademark on the two names.

And then Unicron Trilogy fans wonder why Hasbro primarily caters to G1 fans instead most of the time.
