Powermaster Optimus Prime. I know regardless he looks like Prime but the name Optimus Prime sells and it would for the non-TF fans or non-hardcore fans sell better. Also since it was release in the US as that.

Could see it coming with a alternate PMOP head also.

 

sadly i think the best choice would be a new mold, i dont think they could even use next year ss86 optimus for his base mode since the powermaster prime transforme in a different way

Yeah, that's what I meant. Takara will most likely do its best to get Ginrai correctly and for that it will need a new mould.

I can't tell if these guys are fans or what? I mean, they have the original figures sometimes to compare but why would someone base their living in swindling the creators of what they enjoy?

 

yeah I can see them being decent introductions for beginners, but I do find people seem to try to use them for everything, including things they really aren't all that helpful for. Idk why but it reminds me of what people used to do as kids with lego figures and sharpies  

I mean, they are a type of paint I suppose, same way any marker is. But I mean more traditional paints just tend to be better from my experience. Even panel lining has been way easier with traditional painting methods than sitting there with a pen for ages.

 

Guessing you’ve never used a gundam marker. They are literally paint. They even have official gundam marker airbrushes you can slot the marker in to spray the paint.

 

Saw the video review on this, and it’s like a love letter directly to Armada fans. This is closer to the source material than the other figures from outside G1 that have been represented in Legacy, and outside of a handful of stylistic choices, this is basically how I’d imagine a Masterpiece Armada Prime looking. Even the paint, while not perfect, is on par with figures that were released in the Armada era. I am PUMPED to pick this up- the first Commander figure I’ve had any interest in for almost the last decade.

 

Thats pretty cool. Still, for things like panel lining, always preferred traditional paint that you can water down a bit, apply quicker over larger surfaces, and then wipe.

 

What I’m loving about this is that it’s somehow blending the show, toy and the PS2 game versions all together and it makes me so hyped. My ONLY real issue is that he doesn’t have doors in truck mode, there’s just a gap for some reason. Although there’s 5mm ports on the shoulders so I can’t imagine it’ll be too long after he’s out for someone to make some door pieces that fold away for robot and super mode.

 

The QC of Doom  . I read people making fun of that here. If they've seen this and that's a big if, it probably promoted the creation of a whole QC section of Hastak penckers (pencil knockers), as they couldn't let that go unchecked

 

We’ve had Rodimus, Motormaster, and soon Ss86 Magnus and Armada Prime as commanders that are cab+trailers each with unique engineering. I think if they wanted to sell the world a commander Pmop/Gibran they would do new mold

 

Are we sure those images of the completed Legacy Optimus ain't another soon to be ditched mold like that of MP CJ? The latter was like all but accepted to be released soon and supposedly been ditched (mold etc).

It has listings, is one of the 2 big seller toys of 2023, and It’s also literally on the box/toy line artwork.

It’s not getting scrapped like some cobbled together MP test shot. These leaked versions are from the factory, meaning they’re being produced already. Definitely too far along at this point.
