things seemed pushback, obviously on store shelves retail is a shot in the dark due to how awful distribution is but online orders have snarl with an august release date i would expect prime if announced in march to be late august early september as it seems there was a delay on hasbro's scheduling side of things, if they hold out even with the leaks to reveal in april then september/november

Yeah, late Q3 release for the West, mid-Q4 for Japan.

They'll do a showcase video or something before it gets released. We'll also see the other figures in the wave.

I'm still betting on an August release going by Rodimus and Motormaster who were released during that timeframe. I also think that TakaraTomy will probably put up the pre-orders for Armada Optimus soon either next week or so with official images and then Hasbro will reveal more details about him later on that the stock images don't during their big Wave 3 reveal. Just like Rodimus Prime in Kingdom.

Still a better solution than what they did with CW Menasor. Good luck getting that thing to even stand straight, let alone do a dynamic pose.

We really need to start getting Mini-Cons again, it feels weird having these Armada updates without their little buddies

The lack of minicon ports makes me not interested in them. I have quite a collection of the original minicons and it's a big minus that they don't work with the new toys

It might not be minicon ports now, but the standard 5mm holes. You can see that the combined mode shoulder has a hole where a minicon would be attached, and since we recently got new micromasters with 5mm pegs on them, we could use those.

Yeah, I'd assume any new Minicons going forward would use standardized 5mm ports/pegs.

There is a roundabout way of doing it. Quite a few Weaponizers and Modulators have 5mm pegs on them that conveniently have a hole in the center. Big enough to fit a Minicon on that peg very well. For example the shoulder peg on Sixgun have holes on them that is perfect for Minicons to slap on to, Airwave also got a few 5mm pegs with holes on his arms that make for good Minicon pegs.

If you want the Minicon to be slapped directly onto the bot then yeah you'll need adaptors or else it wouldn't work which sucks but it's not impossible.

Don't threaten me with a good time.

I'm not super familiar with the original toy outside of the Bendy Prime mold. Does the trailer do any Base Stuff or is it just a giant pair of pants?

Yes, the old toy had the trailer fold open like a flower into it's base mode

the old thing has such novel and neat idea, but the lack of articulation solely to dedicate for base mode leave bad taste for me. truly a product of its golden age

The whole Armada line had a serious posability problem, which is weird since RID didn't.

This is why a lot of Car Robots/RID2001 originals aged a lot better than most UT toys (Including Cybertron).

Hell, Fire Convoy has articulation that is pretty similar to the figures we have now (That doesn't mean I don't want a new one at Commander Class since the original still suffered from a few issues from that era like top-heaviness).
